Job Description

( b2 v( M! U9 Y% K' @/ v2 W- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
% X/ i$ k$ J. c' t: j" k- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

! D) j! ~& u) Q9 k6 G- post secondary diploma

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
) S0 W& m$ \& @* q% `# |( c- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
1 K k( Y) E* ^+ \+ S- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
Q" ?6 R0 X9 C0 r5 f- t7 p- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies2 C7 \( o8 r; N$ y' n: J4 {2 e
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
( c. \- ^. z. g7 t& @- update ASSIST website } O# A! V+ W6 y7 @( R
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
% w+ q' s, ?: N- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
6 Z% P: M+ [; {7 R( B% n- assist in writing proposal for ISP* W* Z* T, ~ V" ?) k
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
6 Z! g3 }0 M7 S; w% J7 N" s5 z- hold regular meetings with ISP team. v: d- p& X2 }! O' Y6 Q
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

3 b7 O A1 q& w, _( P- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education * g8 {( o+ q4 y
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills* \3 l G) l: k. o1 B: }' D. E' h
- experience in community work and immigrant services; L" {$ r4 f( ^/ v
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset+ C. s6 Q7 G$ B) q
' \: m+ E- u" q4 L+ g
