Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

Position Title: Receptionist/Immigration Services Worker

Job Description
. h% z; W8 N: h; u3 m- answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.- f7 s5 r$ `2 E# X
- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker; }" U# j4 G% E2 s( s% D9 ?
- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team
% h, r9 o3 A' l" l2 X' @. w ^( W9 j# ?' h6 ?, U
Qualifications:
7 K9 A: Q# @' X8 y3 _- post secondary diploma 6 x6 S3 d, x& G" T! t
- customer service and office clerical experiences- C' J' ?* S, W3 V p4 a: A# ^
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset1 o# P% p; R6 i) O

. Z8 o! M F5 F, m2 T! {- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
/ I# W1 A O, P3 ~! ?- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
" S* X+ {& X0 L8 b9 R: v- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services, W0 D. ~9 H7 f. J( |
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies7 |7 E- y/ U6 E4 m$ S$ Y/ m! H
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
* s6 l( l, Z" P; w- update ASSIST website" i1 I! M) |) X6 V) I% U
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
$ ~5 }; f# `' n: {. [1 k- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services+ h) h. c2 g) n
- assist in writing proposal for ISP" M$ @- B1 P& \9 @- f% Q
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP) j" F' R) _ E9 _
- hold regular meetings with ISP team
' ~4 m* S! N! d8 F8 V- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
7 S9 i& F2 ^8 L1 y- update membership database
% x9 }' b; I8 T7 f# i- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required) S2 K2 r; A2 [8 M$ z

Qualifications
5 a! G( Y" D2 t- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education $ S: t9 U5 b* p, P/ O
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
2 g- H W5 b( \, s- experience in community work and immigrant services
