Job Description

- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker! E0 Q* ]+ _0 x( u; E
- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

- post secondary diploma ' x. _7 } d8 M! n1 V

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
7 m% N9 G& h4 H) [3 q- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services6 }+ B8 f2 r' Q* [1 B) h) o
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
) b; P2 v ^6 J. C- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
( h% I# [0 W6 n; n B6 s5 v2 z- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
4 K+ X4 R5 G0 p5 o t! c/ C- update ASSIST website
3 h6 Z' @% E: U- {! J4 D- B- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
( ~# X1 Z9 N4 Z! j* k, N, m- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
1 Q# l/ t! _5 d% E- assist in writing proposal for ISP. [# A. X- |$ O. Z9 W4 _
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP+ v3 j. E7 I8 |
- hold regular meetings with ISP team
+ e8 c: s6 ~4 z- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time) ?3 {9 Z+ Y. z1 O
- update membership database
' Q6 q. p& g. {; }% B8 x* T2 ]3 t4 s- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
^3 J" ~, H! C9 e1 r" @( T- I- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education * `. w0 S4 y7 b: o
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
. n1 R+ J) X8 b2 X- experience in community work and immigrant services
- I: ?$ D2 C5 z- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
