Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

Position Title: Receptionist/Immigration Services Worker

- answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.7 a* i: @5 I, ~
- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker# \! D" z5 _% q8 A2 X7 X: O
- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

1 ^# c: Z+ v4 ]0 |4 h2 CQualifications:# R! C0 f0 H* V' h- b. c
- post secondary diploma ' i3 J* o/ ^, R/ C4 _8 {
- customer service and office clerical experiences

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community$ N% a9 B. f' j# ^+ m
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
$ o9 e5 [1 b. v- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
8 m2 i1 t' \9 |) V& k n- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies- t2 _/ o0 e7 _0 \ w
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
0 N9 u/ {, z# {' H# I5 G- update ASSIST website
$ o5 K8 ~4 c5 o% c- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre n4 H" b3 B5 }. Q) v: M2 P+ a
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services n2 K! |* ~! i+ V$ o% ?
- assist in writing proposal for ISP. Y8 r: o; z. d$ D. E
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
: S, }* X ~ d8 U0 p: l* z- hold regular meetings with ISP team+ w- g+ g2 }) P5 U
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
K1 k. U, U4 ?! |+ ]- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
+ I3 w' y s' F; V- good oral and written Chinese and English skills- Y/ x& @: ?& z, k; y$ y
- experience in community work and immigrant services/ b9 S+ `0 r C9 a
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
