What activities will I do during my road test?

You are required to know and demonstrate:

· how to parallel park

Who is my Examiner?

7 [6 A) n$ h& u/ P· The Examiner will introduce him/herself and provide proof of identification, when requested.
% X* P( ?! X$ u; c* g! X· All Driver Examiners are licensed by Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation under the Driver Training
: c: k9 f% Y8 j) zand Driver Examination Regulation. They are monitored to ensure they provide high quality road) V- O# r/ a/ y9 [( w! J- Q9 o
tests. They should be courteous and professional, keeping conversation at all times relevant to the: c3 D3 f) z I0 r, i

What do I bring for my road test?( _5 r$ C9 e0 {( ?! x
9 ^, A7 e/ `9 [5 a+ O· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo)
9 R( H+ \# q' O1 F4 K! Uthen you must also provide acceptable photo ID.
9 j2 F8 M5 n. D· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the5 y: g5 F) G* \
weather conditions (in case your vehicle breaks down and you have to wait or walk).1 b$ D! s' n$ |# i5 {
· Your vehicle must meet all legal requirements (good mechanical condition, valid, u, d- K% K& Z0 }- {3 T Y
insurance and registration) and have enough fuel for at least one hour of driving.

assist in checking the signal and brake lights, horn, brakes, and steering. You will be asked to describe and
. T9 O) k' K8 s/ edemonstrate two of the instruments or controls inside the vehicle, such as the hazard lights and windshield
# q* z% S+ U. u0 E% c3 _( \wipers. The Examiner will provide information before you move the vehicle about the route and the instructions
$ k0 E" c) e/ b( V1 Zthat you will be given during the test.

· Points will be assigned for errors. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 points to pass the road test.

stopping at a stop sign).

What do I do when I pass my road test?

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. You will also be given a copy of the
@! y* ?9 F; [. r z3 vTest Permit. This will indicate that you have passed. Take this permit, along with your learner’s licence, to any
$ f. ], a" m- B& `* _3 l% U. lAlberta Registry Agent to have your licence changed to a Class 5 Probationary Licence. There will be a fee for this: ?/ z5 f5 Y. f4 v
