Idioms----I learned some idioms and made some sentence. Who can guess the meanin

He quit his job as soon as he  got an interview with a publishing company.. He really jumped the gun.4 I2 X& t5 j: H8 ], H$ O
His wife saw he having lunch with a female client in a restaurant, she jumped the gun and accused him of having an affair. % a$ z& [( f  O& |
Hold your horses, otherwise you may make a mistake.
5 g6 l+ N/ m* f. @You won’t get burned by choosing our product.
( }% b6 \0 r( Q4 _2 [7 GHe wants to have his cake and eat it, but there is no doubt that he won’t be successful without hard working.
2 m' h0 K: p/ N4 yThey were supposed to win, but Jim blew it. Eventually they took second place in the game..- ?. w) m# p$ M) X* w; c* l0 D. {
My goodness! We have to be back to square one because we get the wrong direction.& h5 @  }: u7 i" R; [

About one year ago I met a girl in university, I slept with her after our first date, we really jumped the gun and had a good time as well. However, when I proposed to her, she said, "Hold your horses", it turned out she was married! Obviously, I would get burned if her husband knew about our affair, so I told her explicitly, "You can't be married and single, you can't have your cake and eat it, too!",  I was very upset, coz I was expecting a serious relationship, but she blew it! She had a family, she even had a son, she just cheated on me, that is way off base! After I broke up with her, I have to be back to square one and look for a new relationship.

mostly good, but I don't think the "get burned" and "blew it" is used properly here.

I tried to apply all of these idioms to my story,  I believe each of them fits well.
