 1. Chemical list and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)5 E7 @- ?4 @, O4 Q, W, j
 • help complete up-to-date chemical lists for all laboratories within the department
 3 f4 [. G6 T- Y: ?$ x3 X) |1 w" I4 j4 F• collect and obtain MSDS’s for all chemicals5 ^. Q; d' _( o$ Q
 • make sure all chemicals are properly labelled and stored) ~2 l+ ]$ U7 Y" j' a- ?/ E
 • proper disposal of all unwanted chemicals
 * z2 k2 a' A$ E- B! Y• finalize chemical lists and then duplicate and label all MSDS’s for distribution to OH&S for the MSDS on line system.' Y. c# T+ F( S& K

 2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Hazard Assessments (HA’s)* g, S# q0 y3 O8 I/ t9 F
 • help update the department SOP’s and HA’s. This will include verification of existing SOP’s and HA’s and tracking any that are needed.

 3. Tracking System
 ( V9 i# I# L3 p' M# {* u% ~% s• help develop a tracking system for adding or removal of chemicals as well as continual updating and verification of SOP’s and HA’s ' u0 g. d4 j) P6 C4 ^

 Candidates should be inquisitive, thorough, and willing to learn. Some education and/or experience in safety is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment are required. $ l: ~$ m7 Z& A- d: Q  s
 
 ' M% Z6 M+ I7 T4 n% [3 pThis is a two-month summer position, preferably commencing the middle of June, which will pay an hourly wage commensurate with education and experience. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.
