, V3 |4 Z4 y0 F! p' @* E; F6 Z- G- j; ? * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
) X5 {, U6 @# H* Z' ]& g1 W * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography% L: c8 N( X' z+ V4 `7 t) a
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
7 N/ F/ l- F5 q * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
3 Y9 ~- V! v; b9 T- f: ^ * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
. G& O1 _! f7 M. u! U+ D' h * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

& P( ]1 l- G) h Z3 n * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices

Qualifications3 }7 V3 {; r! C

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
3 j4 [; R- n4 |' l+ Z }+ [ * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
1 h+ w0 B7 Q: w6 Y$ d * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel1 @" Z$ b! X& ?% e- E* h& Y: ^
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
