2 t( [& z1 y- m% u2 X * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis$ R0 S* _4 B4 u S8 Z; L
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
4 ^/ v: J$ o4 a5 G- f' | * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques( p2 D& [# D+ ]9 f" d
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
4 G5 G: p- I* x+ i5 n * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry; `7 K0 |6 Q" F5 }" N
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals" g& H* \( u5 s' k- x- o; O# S) @
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab/ K- i; m" u5 p! d" ^4 \
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
% a: a5 _, t/ ?3 h- f/ U * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)

6 ?2 A R0 m- m- H+ G3 O/ `4 a0 L * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
