* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis/ Y7 P2 w! M1 k1 ^& q
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography0 e7 t3 F" |; d. x( a5 `. z' R
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
( v* o" u4 \8 `7 Z5 x7 q * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
/ Q& v) @4 `( T9 k5 l) t, H& E& K * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
+ e; n* I) ~+ t% D, J* D# h * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals$ C: K* Z9 ^/ q* i) Z: W
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab0 C% O- q1 F7 s2 B; X
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices* C# P. E5 I! `" Z: Q$ H3 q2 @
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred+ A* R. N; U" U8 r" K! ^& g& i
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)8 ?; K$ C3 |7 L9 l! j
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel$ `9 i0 E, C7 a; F3 d
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures6 C- t7 b$ V) a- P, j6 C
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
