    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region$ n9 }( A- f, c- X+ v8 `
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
: t9 V$ r& v/ I% A  m3 f) K    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
1 k( }8 d0 w4 n    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations" \/ E/ }/ M; i
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
& }1 W( b% H8 p# o5 U: `6 }- W, [* z    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses" O8 t6 a5 |, U7 `8 |* T5 g
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
3 o1 }  z7 o, a  h1 f: M, p    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
, ]0 @6 w  K8 M6 ]7 \1 z    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment* ~& A% |* P2 _* P+ A4 W/ U+ S
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports* ^+ h; x+ _3 ]
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs* Y, R( O0 M2 J9 E( m; R! w
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
2 f  o3 m' b  A7 }8 S    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities0 K9 d: t, |4 |. z' I
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools3 t9 @- l; b: k; w

Qualifications! j9 I- k, L% \* l! W
; g. ]& D  d' K1 @3 x  @, `3 }6 l
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
# J& m7 R* X  V. O5 R    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth% u6 v$ _. y- z
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
: Q9 I" i# \, n2 Q" A    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
- n# u6 R; w3 M# Y/ c% |$ L; H5 w    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
( k5 t% a- J& C& K! t& N0 b    * Fundraising skills an asset7 p/ ~/ c% e5 h5 F# I1 B
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
+ U0 U: O3 M8 l& w' V7 Y. P    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
4 d! Q* ?' E5 ?# }    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills- i5 u" t; @' `; Y( c
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills3 V+ Y. i8 v3 F' {- j
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
