9 r: F! R: [. i, n! h; o * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
5 P. J4 S3 y$ b* N8 ]' J# ~/ A * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
+ C* W8 I3 S0 q * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators: C1 y2 O% s" o. i' n+ R+ H
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
/ |3 K* y* T: h5 l/ b * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director4 E0 a2 k$ B6 U2 ]% c+ a# x. Q
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
( ^2 O' F! n- v' g8 G * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth

* Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
% {5 t8 e8 a1 M6 ^$ o * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
* e: C+ v( {4 b- H- Z" f8 d; {+ H2 f * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies1 t- v2 a8 T3 c$ G* ?1 d `- j
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs# v' g* R' q2 L7 j) b8 o
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
