9 r: F! R: [. i, n! h; o    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
5 P. J4 S3 y$ b* N8 ]' J# ~/ A    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
+ C* W8 I3 S0 q    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
/ |3 K* y* T: h5 l/ b    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
( ^2 O' F! n- v' g8 G    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
7 ^3 q3 D. Z9 U    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program

0 M, l" M/ B: P/ Z    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
$ H8 @8 }& f/ k( j( X: T# X    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

' X; d/ G2 V% W$ E, E. _
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
% {5 t8 e8 a1 M6 ^$ o    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
* e: C+ v( {4 b- H- Z" f8 d; {+ H2 f    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

9 z6 q# W/ G  q7 u) }7 I    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
