$ L% }" R; G6 \+ h& s( Q2 I4 ]; ^/ S * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
- o Y5 v5 u& k4 ~# X( Q, I7 L * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
* T' Z8 w) g1 ?) I' |8 M2 o" W * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators1 R" e; `' J4 C8 I9 |; j
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
3 V# Q; K, t J$ a M. g! L * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director9 T7 k- A- `) {3 h6 }/ D
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
9 t8 h1 [4 ]/ ?- ? * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth

* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment

* Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities: q' z8 V) |9 K
* Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications+ L) X8 e" F& o
, p* \# R) A( |1 E/ p. Y3 Q2 J * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline, ]- ]' I4 u1 g% h3 x* u, a- w
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth% I& K; \, n _3 g: j
* Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
+ V5 d2 ~; L4 ]* z * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs7 }( k) h+ g t% w# u
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

* Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

* Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
