" B8 h  @5 s# R2 _    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
7 d( _8 J) f( Q. j) Z9 Q* a) Q    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
: R4 z( b1 F( M- k4 q4 A/ a, \    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators- l# ~4 Z* r8 l8 b5 `
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations+ u) N7 X0 @. `* m6 B6 Z
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director7 h" z' f* I4 Z; p+ l1 s
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
3 d9 r+ `9 i& h0 [4 _! X% c    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth/ h. I* |0 V3 x( {, F) M( {
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
4 S4 r" M- b' b" B' \    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment3 g$ U3 n( r+ }/ E" H
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports  N" E9 X7 f# W, h3 _- P
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
" }& x9 P) j3 z! j$ ~    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
) r+ t8 R, N7 `. j    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications1 \* U  o# y, k- L+ q  w0 ^% q- b

, A7 r- ?$ l! S: p    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
6 _' n& U2 }, e" D& N    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth9 v# [) ?8 k$ S& C7 R0 Y7 V
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
6 _) w  A, ~/ s3 B    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs& J6 ^* p$ l+ X
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community( n: W" b  A/ `
    * Fundraising skills an asset7 {. v2 P4 j) I/ [0 _6 s
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
+ M" Y0 {: p0 f; U: D1 A    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
& H5 `3 \: M7 N8 X# w    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
