- q$ |7 ~6 _, U5 c3 U9 }4 K1 G    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
+ X# d8 |, w+ d& U& w4 K2 J    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
7 [) _( L7 G' f    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
, d6 {- B' o3 [, t; `8 [% {: x    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses

    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
! C. O! z6 m  x3 M) f    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
3 N4 l% {' W9 S$ R0 m' f    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
$ J* R2 b# e% a    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

$ d) @+ \, w+ [, W$ R9 s$ v    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
4 k9 O$ ~: B) G' U    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
* |5 ]! I. N7 z  T% ~& `; \6 L6 I    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
) W' S- A: Q5 @, {  f5 l) P; s% a    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
    * Fundraising skills an asset
& C& q) \' r& b8 Y    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
- G4 P% d) E: e8 K' {    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
$ S2 E. ], ^" {( g9 f    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
