' G% B( b8 Z3 Y) s3 W- h' y3 O * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region X: j! @( i3 W
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
# c' c) n4 `7 \% T * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
2 a0 @. [! p F: K: x9 C * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations" Q! n5 {+ {9 _+ f
* Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director2 v3 j) E0 s, j# U5 y3 |5 t6 a
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
! _( t* L: z& T% }8 ?/ ^- f * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth1 _3 O$ O, q& D" A* G: h: D# Y$ E
* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
: }% u/ @$ l# u * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment

* Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

5 K5 N9 {" A8 s% t6 t * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
2 c' G1 [- ]. u# X) t * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth* J0 m7 a( v" @9 m8 M$ r
* Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
7 Z# V K( m' ]8 V2 { * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
- \' Y5 _! l' L" H, L R8 z& y * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community# P+ y1 O( Q2 a0 L5 U2 {: a) o
* Fundraising skills an asset5 d: {; w* k: ~+ G' s: X
* Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
