Duties. ^% V1 ?4 q' c' K# p: ~, ?& M
9 Y2 m C. P$ }! \4 q3 ~ * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
- k+ ~5 q" J1 s1 \$ s' x( ?' ~ * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities2 A& o0 _/ p1 O- d3 p; z
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
' ?3 |- m( ? J; n$ A * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat3 ]' E8 E4 \0 b/ v& Z9 I
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
' C: _4 o" k5 |& T+ s * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements5 w2 r3 Q+ `( n
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
* o( w, c2 S; V( l * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
. C' I5 j2 j) F * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning; [, }1 H+ i d1 }: ^3 D
* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials/ f7 ^% [$ F* N
* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
7 K* D2 I( I! `- F1 F( A1 D6 r * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results9 V0 f' [* { x' F3 a" l8 Q; V. J
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies7 f/ x5 ?; ^* P

Qualifications
& W$ R7 p4 D" Q+ d. J
, L! d- j2 B9 p6 E * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred# F- H" W |' V& B( ^' Y1 H
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth4 l9 w& N0 g8 e* p' Z4 Q
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset0 @0 t9 r. y& u4 C" V F; a8 n1 A( U
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
8 m, c$ p: H! v# d5 ?5 R( F# Z * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills; k- Q: [7 E6 `+ E
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning Q# O! C) T) i$ N+ K' J8 I
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
