Duties

1 k1 _6 Z" c- L0 g- N& W1 X    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
! S0 v, c$ n+ f, L5 {    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs

1 O4 E  n: ~* p) h; U  J    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
! k3 I1 z# t9 |5 x    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
) j. U: j  \) L: M    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

* L- \# ]$ P  {4 ~% yQualifications

+ E1 E) b5 m8 R7 A% L    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
$ Z7 H. p. Q& L% }. U    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
# P" k* i9 e$ \( a1 [. n' t    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
