Duties' }. q% s) c) {4 J+ ~
! z# ` T% v2 S# X1 P: l * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program M& k6 o0 B& S; L! V/ t
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
+ [8 S O* t- G) _4 h1 J& s! E * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes0 Z8 m. J( c: R' K5 {
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat) A+ O- g* P) P) M$ W$ N8 x
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
1 \* g/ t; v0 n' K * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
- W) x; v' ?* m6 A! W * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs4 ^) u3 A+ g6 q9 K8 |
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director

* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
' m( `, I7 `0 p& a0 `7 M * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
! T I" ]! d: ^* q! v# q( D * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
, L K* h" @/ t6 e * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications
% R6 u8 I4 D* z$ g5 ~- a1 C) V; U Q8 @& m
* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
" { A- @" G0 ?& j" R5 G6 d1 ` * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
6 |6 {, W- V2 m; @$ U& j * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
* x7 c5 ^, w7 y1 T6 _# w * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
" T/ t# j( e/ _, U * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills5 D% @4 X4 }7 s7 G) ]* }; h2 [2 h
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning6 ]' V3 {2 E3 ]# k3 g
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
