Duties

* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
$ C8 Q& Y; C, s5 [9 u * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
4 M4 i) G( s7 R0 |; g * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
$ b! E. b, R8 R7 w2 ]# G' h * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat; R" T# G& m0 W$ S+ l7 w% W
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
; U3 p7 h6 w" ^" H/ E3 f( |$ G" R$ A% { * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements2 N) T( b6 [( k3 M) a+ ]; A& p
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs5 n7 l& B. m& P, i3 e
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
* ?( D8 d, u0 ]) m * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media+ t+ Z& E4 N6 | D# c A1 h
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results$ q9 ?# y: F. @6 ]4 c
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications
* \* K* M& L# Z5 ]* b! {8 F" T
* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred. \& d* P: y) H! F
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth% J( Z& J; c2 H% M b0 `
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
# |- g! p, V% } n( C; g * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
# n1 X {4 p o- A * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills' Y6 I" ^. n6 ^9 ]- }) w5 Q) H, G1 p
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
5 G. M$ a* U4 G0 m; l4 i5 J * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)8 ~& Z) R! r# `- B4 o3 L4 u
* Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
