"Markets in these cities continue to adjust after experiencing record price increases in the last two and a half years," the federal agency said.

6 A- t7 Q* o! T E. D; _Even heated Saskatoon posted a slower annual increase of 13.1 per cent, "further confirmation of a trend of deceleration in this city. Many builders reported increased prices as a result of higher material and labour costs," the agency said.( a i! w8 h8 j U+ T
$ U1 N9 n$ b# pThe fastest pace was in Regina, which saw a year-over-year price increase of 29.6 per cent, down from its record rise of 34 per cent in April.

) t4 P9 d: F2 A. k- T8 NAs the market continued to cool in Western Canada, prices for new homes rose nationally at a slower pace in July for the sixth consecutive month.

Prices were up 2.7 per cent in July from a year earlier, down from June's annual pace of 3.5 per cent. On a monthly basis, prices edged up 0.1 per cent between June and July.
