A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.9 B9 y8 Y w+ v* i
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
~. a- j8 y2 U$ d2 l8 Y( Vknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.0 p# o7 I# j! T; W8 j: N" I
The program includes the following elements:0 {. k# [9 g+ R' s4 w, ]# j& J* f
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
% c5 M o$ R: p1 o$ S; I$ [• Standard Child Care First Aid
6 s# H4 H4 F) m) {) `• WHMIS6 @% ^# A$ x% s) ]& t0 \ B7 c& `
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care9 G3 Q3 b. d* Q) B& e0 f
• Components to improve communication skills

• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
^: R, P: M* ?of Canada
" ]2 G, F; b- q1 k: F& A. p* w2 \• have a Social Insurance Number- h9 u I2 h' n6 O: g6 b5 ^9 |
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
" m! S* @8 b; d7 W• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
7 y$ l; q" r7 ~8 d, r" k2 \• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time# G8 \* |+ R7 z: W" P' S* \2 r
program
! l2 b8 k9 x& H' {Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet. _3 Z- U6 k2 a0 \- o
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:

They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
