A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.# G+ E& D. f+ I2 d* G8 n
The program includes the following elements:
1 ^3 ]8 \0 E7 w1 }7 g: U• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1) i( ^7 k/ x. z/ v
• Standard Child Care First Aid
0 n$ I- X% G& }# z$ Q6 D$ K• WHMIS
2 O! w& l' H1 |+ A* N3 U* N• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
3 F/ E5 Z5 l* |• Components to improve communication skills9 A' p( D+ V6 Z7 }0 f
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search! T: p4 O" P$ \8 D) k4 Y- X/ I
• Practicum Placements8 E7 M8 @9 _! } j
Eligibility Criteria
9 s0 _1 C( ], k5 N1 q• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen k/ ]* `( }, r) k, U8 o- K+ |' J
of Canada
& f; r) ~; m2 t( |• have a Social Insurance Number
8 l- Y3 X* z) B9 F/ {• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
/ w! u6 f& b. R, t: D* F( ?• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
E3 M- `0 I/ p9 b; w• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time
1 u* O2 O4 \( Y4 R4 sprogram& d+ A$ t& c) b0 R2 q$ I- ~
Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet9 `, V C: G8 N+ t: S
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
- z; K- Y; G- ~9 l4 o4 F5 g• be unemployed or underemployed.( [$ {. O9 ]& B( \7 z
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
