A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.
V1 U0 D* P( S% a3 NThis program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
% c4 p1 Z) h; y9 {2 Z: iknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.: E# N) N$ |4 _) S4 R5 E8 n
The program includes the following elements:. F" p3 W4 x1 U% L. ]2 a% q
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)9 \) i0 v0 ?- c8 l
• Standard Child Care First Aid
8 K6 f# q" O0 K0 n( w# w• WHMIS
3 A0 k$ Y7 f& r1 g* k• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care6 u1 z" b. }& Y: q2 W, P" G
• Components to improve communication skills# T* M ~' F3 j) }* M9 X% r, P
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria; |) B7 ~. V% Y
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen6 E' M! l5 H6 V5 W( h; T3 H
of Canada
+ c+ D- Z% a# r( \& T; x• have a Social Insurance Number& ^$ ?# ]2 D4 J; u9 s4 n
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
' r6 p$ g4 I3 `& K- @' R# o• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent, X! H3 ] S( Q$ V* m
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time3 @5 k' [* B- \6 }5 D }2 Z5 j

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet9 R7 o5 x. `5 x0 ^" L+ n! t
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above: C2 G T ^, D# H
• be unemployed or underemployed.) X$ Y% H# x2 |# T5 W4 Z9 F
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course+ N9 Y! k7 \0 I7 g$ E8 a
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
