Duties
& `! x* o3 F+ m: X' K3 d
9 ~5 T2 n+ [0 U+ G/ W * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
; z& y) }! |2 j( ~ * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis( p: H& n+ ~! ~: z; k; \
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance+ o, |" c' d1 n
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
! c( t8 |4 y0 w2 ^3 _ * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies/ Z! X# m+ i4 M" C
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs

Qualifications

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred9 i( y' e% [+ c1 `( u& X
* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required/ U# V! N- k) P
