* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications% i9 u% C+ P% f2 z+ _9 m$ ?
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
# b$ \3 g3 y5 `! q. F0 u4 {) _ * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
: E7 | O9 T8 _! h! D, A * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students * Q1 t8 b0 z- I9 U7 p; s
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies: q5 r, z% q" ]/ ~" K: ~, e
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs$ q' V1 b" ~2 w7 p* C& g- Q
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
