* T! E' I% K' R+ G3 P * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications u, x3 ^8 n' i. _1 q
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
# f* m7 q0 M- ^8 U: V& j * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
3 F% P% G4 ~; U: O2 ] * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students - r d' ?/ N) K6 i9 N
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies7 C9 M- Y- |* \ ~0 h& _3 {- s
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
+ b, r# ?3 H3 E0 w * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
