Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

Responsibilities:; V# f2 v* A2 {/ V
- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program $ V2 i) u3 O. i) Y# B# X! k- i" P3 _
(ages 6 to 15) S2 n, y3 g; J3 B$ \
- Recruit children for summer programs
" y' ]; s# h& Q" i- Recruit volunteers for summer programs
3 ~. r7 z% r {4 o* }+ |. |0 W- Record keeping5 q: u" [' w9 W0 Y
- Provide orientation for parents' j. Z4 E+ T$ x' t
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency! |8 P& d3 m" j" p& k4 e& g) t+ J
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications:
5 `2 q! ?) U$ D( V* W- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education( F" ~5 p ~; ?5 U
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
8 |. a, f3 m7 K" n- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
0 e8 {+ Z% j7 p0 g' n3 R* q- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
; e* B! c. L# [7 c: i- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese5 `# n; {8 U% S1 {3 K2 G& n
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
* C u2 g7 D3 Y' v0 x/ Z. `4 R- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
& K; C& g& U. w" L- S- Returning student (should return to school after summer)

2 W* ?8 T5 _! j9 R; Q# S+ [: J- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning) 9 ?4 I- J* n* O9 R8 f
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)! Q3 Y n! n* I Z. u( N. ]7 h
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009; l8 }/ { u k# q+ C( T% N
