Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
# T& e* v8 n0 t& P& [- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to & i- v% d- V; F, P; C$ ]
provide services for Chinese community+ ~! R# @8 T" G( E, \9 ^1 K
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 6 _& H& N, A" r! [3 L. s
access to mainstream services9 e) @$ t m% @1 J: r0 A
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
; G" d3 ]6 [9 o' u0 ~ social services( {! `' T/ K- Q, u7 F
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
, h8 Z0 p' F$ D; `- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
. N4 h. T+ o# w4 }9 q x. o. V: L- update ASSIST website7 g' i" b% H# j2 ?, _
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
+ I; G" c' c7 d6 K- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
7 i# f4 G, ?( H1 `: J4 I- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications b7 v- n! s: q# L2 Q
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of + O% P, u' B! ?* d: [& I
experience and education 4 m. J+ L" U8 h5 N8 u- ~$ f+ {+ S
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
* B5 G9 W0 }- ~! P5 H5 ^7 G- experience in community work and immigrant services6 j3 h" G# ?' W$ f0 g3 y
- experience in website update/design3 O$ d+ N5 ~3 N
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset+ E4 y p0 _# _" k5 y6 k
