Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
) F& v6 T- `0 `' ?; k provide services for Chinese community
5 a; `+ e7 |6 r Z% h* a- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population # Y/ a T+ [0 w G- N4 @" \
access to mainstream services
" n& ^! M. p; f2 R5 B1 d- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
& u0 k8 r2 \- N* I& o social services) W# x3 _/ I4 y! H2 W
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
1 D4 E. V) l: R% {- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members7 A* P/ M( `( B" \* |) Q: @+ d
- update ASSIST website
8 W4 N) X. D6 X* R; e1 S- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
2 ]: l4 d% A4 d# u- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
( h& @2 Y5 F3 T0 Y4 {6 {7 r- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
# k* G1 S6 C, _7 {6 s# u( E- update membership database
" F0 ]5 A/ I! W" h- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
Z8 o }8 w0 }* j8 x- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of 5 ^' K" L* }0 h+ t( ^4 ^5 w
experience and education
2 K3 y0 B- N! }: P- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
; z( Z3 n) e7 ]. @# C" z! d$ @- experience in community work and immigrant services1 H* }$ x0 O$ V8 f
- experience in website update/design
' L2 |) d' J$ }3 c- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset: {3 z; w- u7 E: U
