On May 1, 2002 it became mandatory in Alberta for all children under the age of
8 {4 b* G1 X2 W- V" p8 e4 N# |18 to wear approved bicycle helmets when cycling.

We are aware that enforcement agencies will be conducting helmet checks this
summer. The fine is $69.00, which is substantially higher than the cost of a
6 h+ K/ K% O; h6 a0 A; h) v8 \helmet.
