8 U x4 W7 Z) \/ j' g, ^- `Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. 2 b; w1 b/ m6 a' O& |0 A0 i* F& ]

(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include
' O" ]0 E4 Y1 A. @* [1 T; jActivity Planning and Daily Activity+ [5 w( u4 ^+ b! g8 b
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
# X3 p _9 v0 a# E4 c- c# O• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
9 m! f1 p& W" P) g" t; h0 t/ O/ O• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 2 n: T# ]3 [) V. z: J; A8 V. {
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
* Y) Z, h' M/ I8 d• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
* {0 Q9 M; c; F4 l# ]! e$ j• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.* N) X+ K0 y$ ~# y/ u) Z( b. X

The successful candidate will have:
2 e& v/ v( W Y• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting! Q5 n+ n; u1 E6 z) O' b/ M' N
• Experience with children/ D' V4 S/ [* }, a- R, r. s
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
. `: G% |6 H3 h7 I! G* \ g% ?• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
! |% l" v& k$ |" E" h. a& G- H• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
