Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
' v) E8 {! P% U' s(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include
7 E' e8 p9 w' J6 `4 q* }6 \Activity Planning and Daily Activity
•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
" N+ c6 V/ _- k: w# z•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
9 S4 d! F! c  v' g# `+ q•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
6 T8 f0 J5 x! Y3 p•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
1 q, p. t" Q' v* A1 r6 h( M  u•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
0 T3 G# M" O, A/ k8 p8 I' j! J•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
+ ~" O; T! M5 Q% h% X: ]•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
! x( E9 t. Y9 o2 o  Z( o! {•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
