Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
9 j4 {& h8 V$ s(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include0 }# K! v' K9 s6 l6 |* q( E
Activity Planning and Daily Activity5 U0 H3 j1 Y. [" U+ `
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.# E9 f" D( R/ W# V# z: D! i: y
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. * Q5 H' m! o# D: T8 g( \. d1 P0 u
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 6 Y& P2 m* e' C* W# ^9 k) s
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
+ p8 a1 u' n+ S! K• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
) E- Y. [/ S/ R' j. Z; U• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.7 h1 N+ z( C+ f) F9 D

The successful candidate will have:
% |1 @4 w& P; g- T8 U9 K• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
2 q! X/ {8 `% W4 d g• Experience with children/ F5 R4 N/ ^( v2 g% k b
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
# H8 i% D S6 K; V _& Q _7 `• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.2 H1 r1 F5 ]7 U! B B5 l) t' W
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
