Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

/ o4 x, k0 r" J6 I# o7 @Key Responsibilities Include
, X* e" O' }0 C  t' `Activity Planning and Daily Activity
* u, H1 Y4 G" {( K5 k1 h& j  X•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
, h- v+ M) q6 P3 y! L1 x•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
) z; s( d  |+ ?9 T( |: S3 d•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
/ L  ]6 ~: Q' y: S  _( b/ }! {0 y•        Experience with children
* ?7 C2 I6 q5 E8 u* U7 U# O( \•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
- t  {% ]7 {) L' h$ C1 D•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
( Z8 f9 B: m9 K- w/ h•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
! m  r& N8 E9 T) h; F7 D" M•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
