Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
' v) E8 {! P% U' s(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include
7 E' e8 p9 w' J6 `4 q* }6 \Activity Planning and Daily Activity @ T: u0 u+ D! E) l8 _7 E
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
" N+ c6 V/ _- k: w# z• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. . V5 _9 U7 |4 s% I
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
9 S4 d! F! c v' g# `+ q• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
6 T8 f0 J5 x! Y3 p• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
1 q, p. t" Q' v* A1 r6 h( M u• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:3 ?2 `$ \& A; N- v% T% {
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting0 i$ m: n0 T- z
• Experience with children
0 T3 G# M" O, A/ k8 p8 I' j! J• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 1 O2 \7 D2 u1 b
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring., F6 u. j/ c3 ^* w3 W+ l1 M
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.9 n- K& Z- e/ {' T% j$ s+ s% B; k5 b
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources

! x( E9 t. Y9 o2 o Z( o! {• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check $ Z3 ~& ]$ \7 M; O0 G
