Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. * [8 t% a$ {- n) ?& x# F# P

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

E# {3 r5 G5 Z! m! A4 }. z) cKey Responsibilities Include:, O2 W( r) W3 s2 e
Activity Planning and Daily Activity: `8 t$ P& g( R+ m/ f
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.: h% H# h0 Z# j
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
" \6 ^) M- y4 Y" K; U• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
7 U/ U/ h% K3 P% G& R) C• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.) ?9 U( L9 Z: x H/ c
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
0 L ^( c% e% F• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
# t- A! k$ r* c9 N4 y3 I• Experience with children
" V1 n5 `. L4 w' X% w+ b4 U0 O• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth + f' x% a V ]( \0 Z6 N% T
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.4 `8 r; i5 f' ]) L8 N3 T
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
) B; x1 O# P( D6 f- T8 p' {• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
2 a" q; P& |; `• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
