Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

Key Responsibilities Include:
R+ ~+ n1 _( N( a- _" sActivity Planning and Daily Activity( V5 E; U+ n5 W# T
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
. g+ \ k S6 p; W! C! v• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
- t! i0 R* x0 ^% `* ^0 o# O1 g3 Z6 F• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, ; t. [2 @# a4 @$ T s- P6 u
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
$ T4 ?" y- B0 m& R5 x+ K• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.+ V$ O; K1 ^& x
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.4 L1 H4 Q1 D/ x. N! }9 ^5 }

The successful candidate will have:8 P7 r* S" J% L9 p# y, O% B
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
9 R& R. }- n! ~7 h! H* x• Experience with children
W6 h4 G, a. A• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth ) Y/ a. K3 L$ S+ A2 O
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.# u6 {$ f" L! Z" O
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
- Q$ z- D8 I0 T# w• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
