Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Activity Planning and Daily Activity K2 ^( @7 l- T5 J S+ P# l
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.0 j6 I' p l# e' q( V, T4 f$ X
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
/ o' p9 i1 V& c/ \7 s0 @• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
$ y7 f; w9 e( P• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.9 n, s3 k* J# N7 Z2 u
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.5 M) q8 e; M: ~7 R$ P7 p
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.! O1 Z( ~2 `4 ^: j$ b1 Q: `

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting7 [( `1 J ^7 q" N+ ^: n# I
• Experience with children
4 [, v1 ^( [6 I+ r6 ?1 O4 m( Z& U• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth & H$ J, _( A$ x- c: @+ m
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.4 Y% d& n, D+ J ^# f, s! E
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.* j% y! K5 Z. C* s
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
% X7 L9 g( d9 y+ a d• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
5 H# ]! [/ `$ y/ ^% X• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
