$ [6 c7 _+ T: a6 D3 [Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Activity Planning and Daily Activity
7 m0 G; `, H& [7 Q• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
9 h$ N; g( D5 X3 `! D0 z0 n+ d9 u• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. / l+ p" a( N3 _7 W$ }7 y
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
2 m6 O: Z5 S$ {) y# s' d• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.' _7 B. U' ^9 ]" q d
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.; o& }/ a# f8 X( l. I$ N2 \
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.3 T8 Z9 J) m* B# A. o, n6 R

The successful candidate will have:; F2 [) |& T7 k' s( J; n
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting5 G9 ?- ]( t2 ?4 Z6 g/ N
• Experience with children( |2 S2 w7 P; F: T; W/ b) c4 j
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth + B, {( a9 O9 [& Z+ K
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
, ~4 `9 J- u6 H Y$ ?: `• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.. p2 W$ ? }% n# g' Q
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
" u( O) |0 m# Q& ?* R1 U3 C5 z• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
2 w# S. N1 k$ Q! g• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
