Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

5 q: A' k" z/ v& ]+ ]" F) r: OActivity Planning and Daily Activity
, @; d; Q7 Z. t" ?% c, m; C/ H• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
6 [ n! o& k- B% E/ c- J/ A2 M& m' _• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. % ?- m5 c. u' Q( L0 @, k1 k
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
- N7 h6 Z' @0 _6 p% D7 \• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
+ e. f% Q. q8 C2 @' D2 _! L; v9 c% U• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
( G. R5 w- W$ l4 X6 U• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.9 h# P8 h8 o( ]/ ]- r% [
1 w4 h( _. u1 e; SThe successful candidate will have:" k3 B$ a) b: F% V. y9 T
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting, W6 ^6 P. y/ t" r
• Experience with children
8 H6 I8 y8 e( w$ P3 O• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
, _9 g) g1 V/ C' S# X• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.# ]# t) Z% T/ j6 O [5 U5 W
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented., {; g$ `0 G; O
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources9 i7 I) K4 p+ G* J
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check # G$ p# U! g' ^1 ^& k7 v* C( g8 L
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
