请教:如何选购奶酪和牛油

超市里有许多品牌的奶酪和牛油,请问如何选购?怎样吃比较好?

说说英文名吧,奶酪是不是cheese?如果是的话,有几种吃法一是cheese片,做三明治时,夹在面包里吃,有一种是细条状的,可作比萨,还有一种是粉状的可把它加些开水煮成糊状然后浇在烤好的土豆上,也可把cheese粉散在煮熟的意大利通心粉上吃。还有一种小孩喜欢吃的(不到)20公分长的cheese棒,一包里有很多根,就当零食吃。如果你买回的是立方体或长方体的话,就自己动手切成需要的形状,好象有专门的工具卖,其实中国人聪明,就用菜刀也能解决问题。至于黄色与白色的区别我不太清楚。请其他同学补充。5 o. Y& p  D5 M- S' @' a) g

; t/ E1 A( t5 E你说牛油是哪一种呀,在国内用于起火锅底料。这里是不是butter?如果是的话,分两种,一种叫butter(块状),一种叫margarine(塑料碗装的)就是人造黄油。在洋人的食谱里常用到,至于中国用法,据说butter可以用来作馒头,成为奶油馒头,margarine嘛,烤面包时用,可用面包机烤好切片面包后,再直接涂上,也可涂上后,用烤箱烤几钟。后者好象更好吃些,小心发胖!!

至于选什么牌子,我的经验是凭主妇的直觉。

$ _+ E- K/ v& y8 u& w% G2 SCheddar or American cheese (yellow or white): for code sandwich, cubed small chunk of snack, burger or cheesy casserole (baking), the color doesn’t decide the flavor. The cover of the cheese should say: sharp; mild, which refer to the degree of the flavor.  s2 _5 W% a0 J4 J  ~

Mozzarella cheese (white, no yellow color): for pizza or Italian cooking
- u; h* _0 D4 e6 O! i
- z1 T3 S0 n1 z2 E+ A: _# z(Those are the cheese I can handle but many others I tried but no way to enjoy,  like the following: )* a( w; h5 @# Q( w* L7 R
+ H3 d8 L2 \/ B& G
Swiss cheese (white, with holes): mostly for hot sandwich
6 E3 `% V" r9 K6 Y5 `
4 J. _" S" ^. F2 V: `0 dParmesan cheese (almost like powder): on top of dishes, mostly pasta.

Butter is a lot simpler:
% n% p! H1 ^9 ~: D3 e
" O1 q7 n4 A7 ZButter stick (regular or light): 1. for cooking (just like the oil we use) or baking (e.g. bread, cake, or casserole), 2. you can also use it for bread spread/ z3 }  C+ G$ V; E  q' Q6 s
Margarine( soft butter): mainly or spread, on bread, corn…

6 B0 x4 e6 c3 C9 ?Cream cheese: also for spread, mostly on bagels; sometimes used for some bakery too
