Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Duties: Special Events 9 O" g2 c5 u- @- G' Q
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
8 ?* P, [1 Z7 I, M e* D# E· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
) l6 t- n# h9 e· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 1 f# R7 { O; |/ w( z
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
* \! T- N4 j* gadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure * }' t, v: w* M5 G
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 2 v" ], F; W0 \+ e. D0 X2 t
· Attend and manage Special Events & N" c! W/ y% e2 n/ r" c( d
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
) Y G) r/ |" F3 S3 S$ ~& jAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
$ b% O7 F# U' F. s5 A; ~2 V. [$ J+ g· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 7 K# H: P% A5 K1 D8 X
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 1 }( r& A: Z- ?7 L6 @: ?
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
* c) s5 A* z! @0 Z6 G· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
8 T/ Q: e9 R% S# ~, x; x' b8 r: O· Complete program administration, statistics and records ' k1 e8 O) O/ `7 K. w; n

Qualifications:
) `& p# B r* |( i/ b· Completion of 12th
3 v; ^: E! d1 C Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 5 @" i* C$ l- Q$ d( p, I
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. : U3 x9 S- {& Y% U
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct : H5 \4 \- X: ~
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
9 ?4 I9 i: P0 ^# d1 L· Experience working with and managing volunteers
+ [9 ]( v; W! ]+ \2 j& g2 D· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors

· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training $ W) a1 e4 u8 e
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
