Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: % p/ ~* U$ h0 S
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
) d/ V$ a$ ^) A6 D3 \! z% c$ v· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist - x1 X. E1 m; H
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the # i( r1 ?. f; {2 m9 k
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
8 `9 J3 D8 u2 V3 xset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. ) Y8 Z9 Z, X/ }9 Q U4 X
· Attend and manage Special Events ; A( y8 I4 ]8 l, W2 c. J/ U
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: , k9 S- V/ J: v" b/ H3 Y. n
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions % }& Z5 Q( n1 A$ w9 [7 e( W
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 1 J" a6 x4 V0 X4 V
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
* }% ]! Q/ P3 s1 ^0 C· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers ) n( i2 k3 @ T) t, k7 D `- J! e
· Complete program administration, statistics and records $ T5 _" A2 q+ |, F' C) i
) c7 s h/ c1 a: C0 u
Qualifications: # _( Y3 ~7 J7 Y* I# m% U- Y
· Completion of 12th- ^( g( B8 ]( D1 ^& f. g
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
/ |5 @/ v" k K. WAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
1 R! B4 M; P5 K3 R7 ^. G% h" w· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct ' s7 r# c4 f1 n$ U! G' {( H
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
0 a: P, s, O& O4 V0 f· Experience working with and managing volunteers
' r1 ?" ], C6 S% f+ N· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors : E6 R* w% p+ q7 d4 ~9 T
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ' B2 K, M' K `) Z
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training 0 l6 A4 C! n) Q; b$ d& Y/ ~; S
· Security Clearance
