Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special ' d) e4 {' {4 a9 n
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
5 n# V5 R$ ]/ G9 j# c' a4 T. Q/ H· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
5 [6 M8 t4 Y2 O" F$ ?· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist ( x8 `$ q% ?( S! S
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the * P7 r% }2 m& k& M
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
7 a T) {: k0 y* \: H, |6 q' xset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. $ V+ }4 G/ \' u% }
· Attend and manage Special Events 2 @! @1 H* a& ?8 M
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee G7 O4 R: L8 s/ D; {( g
& h6 B4 Y, r+ W6 E! Y9 ?# g4 s' g7 iDuties: Volunteer Coordination
2 }% D8 U/ p+ E; l9 n- fAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 3 Z, L0 \2 \9 R: p* e5 i% r& D
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
% ~. _# y% C9 I* ^ s2 v& q- t· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
# B( O+ k8 X. P: Y0 V; N· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers + A4 l( P3 A; n5 j
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
- E" y+ T8 N. ]1 G· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications:
8 y: S' y- e# |8 u' I4 U: {· Completion of 12th% _- o8 w4 u. t$ g* j, H
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ' {& l( r) l3 \
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
) n8 E. l. V% e! L· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 4 i- [( b3 }. m
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
. X. C( f5 `! I2 a* t$ Y/ _7 Z2 t9 f- t· Experience working with and managing volunteers 4 @6 @+ t" ^( W; R* g k
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
# [/ o$ Q" A# k/ V' ~* G· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
; o7 \0 F& ~. m( O5 v. H· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training & P/ E4 @/ d, A; q) x

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

5 W( t6 K. O- ^0 ]2 cWages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
