Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Duties: Special Events 1 d1 Y3 m3 t3 T& n
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: - f3 s* P, q5 j% a( ?8 n
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
% [1 S8 l& h/ L4 n! d0 x# E· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
1 ?6 X6 ? G1 O( Q% Qwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 2 G3 F o8 ~( p/ z$ u9 o8 N
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure & V( e1 {0 v3 E# G
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 4 m* c. D0 V% f; S% s3 U* X
· Attend and manage Special Events

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
, |# b7 ]7 u5 T3 {; N9 J# GAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: " W l$ N' l( x* r
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 8 e1 \* a) a" w4 H/ d
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 3 m6 x" n3 E8 }( U+ Z: S
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
Q$ Q# I D4 _& a: [5 S6 |· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers

· Completion of 12th
2 ~# V% J" Z' z Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
" y- j4 X$ ?" r( qAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. ) B" T. a5 h: o& Y+ p1 S
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 6 ~& F3 y1 |$ o8 p9 C6 Q- g
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 1 |. u" r9 ?- x4 r a2 ?+ ~8 G
· Experience working with and managing volunteers I8 T% `2 f5 g; G! ]/ E2 ?' {
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors - L! X6 \% X6 ~7 G) Z: X# w
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events & G1 K( d+ L, B
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training ' q$ f! N# X& R4 g8 |# v
· Security Clearance 4 F2 j' }( ?0 v/ v7 v, N
