Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
5 l9 I; |; r7 T1 ?& D) f2 J1 n· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 9 O4 x% I- o/ P
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
% t% E! f' n/ s7 z$ ?6 ]with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
; i T' J* y' e$ h9 |7 Iadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ; o; o: a( D% g" O
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee 7 s8 n# `$ L4 X2 d2 L$ O, P
# ]) v& L7 K* yDuties: Volunteer Coordination
: A. M. R$ X, C1 ]Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: ; a3 Y) R7 g! U- T# g% g6 @
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 5 P2 N7 V; n( g6 h
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
; _$ b9 E+ o5 Y6 R$ X· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
" b6 \/ o0 S$ y8 z( j· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers , b+ D' W3 j* R; R3 N
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: , l; ?$ ?7 Z# Q' [5 J( h; f" T
· Completion of 12th
+ m8 E2 s% U" Y- X2 ` Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
W) b- j6 r4 ~: G0 zAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
3 y/ G! g# Z, g. y/ I· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
% b4 d+ a y7 @1 p: Jexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
- B+ S( F- _$ ?/ S· Experience working with and managing volunteers , J; U; S& Z! u6 F2 J$ R$ l
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 2 E) F: X6 ~- D2 ~" j
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
$ O7 T8 W5 Y' y+ E) d: V· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training " j; L0 _& {' v
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications ( U0 `) T+ p% d5 ~7 Q! r
