Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 7 Q- J5 f0 Z% W8 K( e

4 B: @1 k& r2 OPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 6 w$ r4 y4 N5 I. W
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 0 x4 i& L6 x0 a6 }
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 6 p3 ]0 m& |4 M5 o1 h. G
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the % L3 s v0 j4 t$ r* s
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
2 I8 X/ R& M; r a3 j( vset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Duties: Volunteer Coordination & }' W2 l) g2 A/ ~
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: # |% l# {! \8 u& G6 d
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
n j' h( @; I& c1 r· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
* e- {0 q2 H" p/ B· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers - o( h' U# u+ } h$ `7 O, j2 R
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers J5 O0 l3 S# I# j
· Complete program administration, statistics and records `; }! P7 F$ ]0 v- {

. S7 H# _# g9 G+ q. _9 Q K8 N· Completion of 12th2 V6 s; n$ T/ F3 b. g7 [
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ) @, r. I4 Q; o
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. % `5 X- }- ~+ g: t8 _
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
) o+ w4 S/ R3 Y% s) Y$ B% K* _6 gexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
. l J$ v$ f7 E; I; V· Experience working with and managing volunteers
# s. c1 A3 y% V; N; k· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 9 k- k4 g* k3 J& A! b
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
* M* |- A9 R, F- @$ L s2 ^& }· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
