# w0 j1 Y# j) fEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events
# @2 P) q* l( N: m# pPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 5 P6 @! {* C( E
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
, B+ |9 r& b0 `6 ]* b: ~% ~8 l· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
# }3 O; t2 `4 e" awith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the ) F' R+ p6 i/ C7 J
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 3 M' H+ d' o* W4 o
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 7 `3 k+ p4 d' q: ^' q" j# t2 e- I
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 7 N( [2 @# {! q/ @6 }% p- ^; u
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
0 P& @) o, a( n· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers : u, O- E+ C' ]: A4 H
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers

· Completion of 12th z3 s0 S+ c1 E$ H+ r( K. V
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
4 {9 ]( L' {* d6 ?% _Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
1 s) m* [4 K' B8 q! W; Z0 U( f· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 7 |8 b7 H X9 b! w# K/ s9 T
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
' T; ]5 H! I, k% ^) J, t· Experience working with and managing volunteers
' Z! q5 P) c$ B& L+ N· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 8 T1 P$ A/ t3 Z: }
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events & ?. W. w0 |: N2 H" L
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
