EDMONTON - Two men are facing charges after Edmonton police pulled over a truck filled with freshly cut marijuana plants.

5 j: B9 V- J; x2 [Police say they got a tip Thursday night from a citizen who told them he'd been driving behind a cube van that was giving off a strong odour of marijuana.

. c7 ]( L7 X; N2 K# j2 [2 |/ gOfficers who responded to the call said they also smelled the pot plants about half a block before they pulled over the van.

Police say there were up to 1,500 mature marijuana plants tied in bundles inside the van.

/ K1 Q% m/ W5 t3 T/ xRoughly 400 kilograms of pot was taken from the vehicle and the driver and a passenger were arrested without incident.

Charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking have been laid against Dihn Xuan Luu, 44 and Deng Xuan Dihn, 51.
