Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview  
4 k  R( m. c$ Q The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
2 ~+ j; R" v$ _-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
/ I. a0 T2 F* p; s. m! t-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
7 u/ W2 `! m  S  c2 l- Y7 h, I-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
2 a% L& k# ]1 f% I; i5 H/ K3 ~-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
$ ^) f% @9 W+ `% v - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
1 O4 R' S: T1 S' l  ~-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
" n/ u# h; R7 [( u. |-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
  y7 Z$ i* [$ t* m" ~5 d. C-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
8 n- C; ~6 _9 o# B7 h1 c# |0 T-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
