It is important that students regularly consult the University's H1N1

% }' W/ V' ?% N; L/ sdo in the event that you find yourself ill.

your own health. Alberta Health and Wellness points out that the
6 K. j4 b S1 d+ J* d" vinfluenza virus is contagious and is spread person to person via close$ D1 F/ L# w& q8 j/ {' B
contact. The virus also rests on hard surfaces such as counters and2 C9 M0 M/ m% [ e; M, A9 Z* ~6 V/ F
doorknobs and can spread when people touch contaminated surfaces and/ ]! B. H- ~4 `- e" F
then unknowingly transfer the virus to their eyes, nose or mouth.
* k: B% i0 }# J" W/ lPracticing good preventive hygiene (e.g., wash your hands and cover your0 e: v7 r( e ^. F0 }, r: o
cough) and following the self-care practices as outlined by Alberta
# r: v L" F& v& IHealth and Wellness will greatly assist in minimizing the chance of
v$ R* B2 |* x# d- _9 uinfection./ U, Z# {1 I$ G9 d$ C3 Q
