PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. — A strong earthquake occurred early Tuesday in the Queen Charlotte Islands region off of B.C.'s central west coast, according to Earthquakes Canada.9 ~- [- \0 b# |) e9 j2 E

An earthquake in this range is classified by as "strong" and "may cause a lot of damage in very populated areas," said Earthquakes Canada.+ L% G0 S u7 o* B% ?9 [

According to the Geological Survey of Canada, the Pacific coast is the most earthquake-prone area in the country.
