A baby food recall is underway as a popular Heinz baby cereal may contain elevated levels of a mycotoxin.

8 O8 J% v# q/ P: @$ WThe Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Heinz Canada are warning parents about ‘Heinz Mixed Cereal, Stage 2, From 6 Months’. The best before date codes located on the top left hand corner of the package are ‘BB/MA 10 DE 26’ and ‘BB/MA 10 DE 29’.
; w3 W* B" B0 p$ g3 Q$ \No illnesses have been reported from consuming the cereal. Heinz Canada says that the cereal may contain elevated levels of Ochratoxin A (OTA). 9 c# p' u" V, [7 x2 ?: s- I
9 A. q- X) C* Y6 H0 }1 m2 }In a news release, CFIA says Ochratoxin A is a mycotoxin produced by fungi that can grow in food such as grains, grapes and coffee beans and has been classified by as a possible human carcinogen.
