To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:
9 ~, W5 [- Z5 |1 H/ t0 k+ x9 d1 m6 M8 m3 q. l8 Y! G8 _/ Q% F2 j1 }- z6 y
have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician
; Z- ]2 `8 g7 D4 `Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.

complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office& o9 m% L7 |! @+ b( I8 J, Z

pay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above . O+ h0 d4 ^1 W \! ^8 g
This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.8 t: Q& q" O3 B4 V; A
