. h8 p" \8 O% U. g) F9 \- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth7 j' ]+ v! q- I* F/ B; n/ ~
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling$ S% Y2 \( a4 @2 ]1 a9 s1 x( z9 J
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
! c: G& }/ }% n4 D2 B- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs4 X) `, G7 M4 ?2 S7 H5 [1 s* |
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health- @; p9 i! ]/ Z8 J( J- `
; a& e! ^3 \! T) D2 K; D6 S
" T+ G8 O$ n# b5 L$ c7 GKey Qualifications:
# ]4 |- D4 \* H/ ^- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
* M& n/ o) n$ C; n. A- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
7 [) f; t( k- Q% |- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others: V: F: B$ [7 q
- Experience doing program development
) i, d3 E; n5 I( A% W- Strong organizational and coordination skills8 [; O' K- X- u( C
- Self-directed and able to take initiative
1 _/ ^' ^" a" O8 J5 j- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset8 h( f4 A8 X# p3 k& ` J$ G' T( g. _" x
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license
0 m" }! }3 O1 I) n4 L( L& V7 M; c( S$ s" ^# c% C6 x
