Responsibilities:( }! {8 F' H& Z4 y; k
- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
3 v4 E/ ^0 v5 m+ ^2 J- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling: z! v6 Y& m: W0 u+ B, K
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
0 A# w% j% Q# P! b! t- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
/ L' Q3 }8 ]: l* \% ^) ?! U- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

" ]( _' |# p% W1 v- z4 V$ W. U% q ]3 U& K5 K" a
Key Qualifications: F" m3 h$ N( t& T9 \, K/ L& ]' l
- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
4 H: m& b5 |# d! Q& q- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement9 L# L: ^" M: Q- E0 N
- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
; ~; X7 Q( U. m- Experience doing program development
% n( f, W5 j" v2 K- Y- Strong organizational and coordination skills
) ]5 Y8 _5 ~* A; J1 `# h6 b6 e c- Self-directed and able to take initiative
, [/ p3 h# Z+ ]- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset- }" i: Q( U7 F
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
