* _7 ]# u' L% J2 B; qAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
2 T+ R, T- s- B4 D- \# o2 yMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
0 b% r, {, D( EMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
. y0 |% }; m: T- yIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
( e1 Y, b  j7 QParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
5 \- ]8 L+ r9 o  @& m+ a# hQualifications
7 G* k! {: ?2 G  w/ U( vMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
+ P% l/ }7 Q  `- h  q6 S+ w" A  YAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
