Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:7 s( @7 Y! k j% w( _3 _
After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.
0 t' @* z: U) N) U0 k+ y2 nIt is a cycle.

We isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.
$ V2 i6 V( W# ~" WSwap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.; `6 D2 [# V5 [! L) H5 H
The problem should be inside the bucket.

0 z4 _, V, n, @ n! T& l4 bWhen the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.+ }6 {+ t* V$ u, J* N4 @/ h6 Q5 w
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.' t D" y6 W9 F, p
Confirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.# ]% r# ?3 J( F* F+ A l
4 R8 X. A! W1 UThe next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.8 i. P- c4 k$ r/ s7 ]& E. t/ z1 V% ~8 S
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.0 j2 Y. W% O/ f( e. k
It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.

The coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them.
