Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and : K1 S, i. A# }+ s
execution of the YWCA Strategy / c, Q% i. C0 p7 n# J
+ f2 F& A( l. `+ v) \1 z( ySpecific responsibilities include: 0 e2 k' c- A& t

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 0 t" |2 X/ N' W9 z n1 I# t4 M
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
2 F* M- X0 t# J- a* }( C' [the Board of Directors;
- R+ O9 d J! B0 G$ y• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 d+ j7 z* P/ M! s
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 8 W" ]" t$ E% F
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
% j% G& H/ H2 g, B5 N: J. U* F; ~• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ! M; B" j4 I1 |: n% @. Y
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by , e; i5 f# O' o! }0 U9 R! k
the board;

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion

changing needs of the organization and community;
% W. A- l6 r3 I2 r" f• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 1 J; G: s8 D; |/ o. j0 ?0 s) ?4 J9 Q
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ! B, L: U( T- S4 V0 e
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
0 G% e+ F# _ w4 \7 U2 S# |, ~• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
" I/ h+ j7 P5 d# L9 ]9 Q+ x* {performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 2 F. [/ H6 b* K3 L# V( S. c
the forthcoming year;
: J, Q8 r: x% u5 L/ H• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
( Z: c1 ~% B$ u5 Rpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

: @ r7 e* F( w- \! Y• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; ! g$ W8 X0 y9 S6 E y
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ' L$ P; N3 ~! ]8 {! s
abilities; 9 o& }! | U7 r9 j$ [+ W- z: V/ ]
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 8 v! ~1 n+ i1 f/ h
Networking and Fundraising; / G9 N+ ~* B' Q# g; c) E5 A7 u
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
