Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
) r0 v C/ n7 cexecution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 7 l9 S# e8 q1 l4 R6 J
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ( h; r1 m4 m. q1 U$ Z% o
the Board of Directors;

including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
! a+ ^& @' ^$ a$ ]objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by , o* ]6 ]% K! C" M7 g

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
& t6 ~1 Q& j+ ?• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion

• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ; Y# w& E8 a; k: C7 n; H

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : s* a2 ~% t. |4 B3 m0 t! r. F

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; # p" D0 C6 f- c% X
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
{! C' E3 q- c s! _selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; : a+ m, g8 S3 F" I. I% L! x
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

4 ~( }! m% H: I4 p& s' S, S• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ) r. y! [8 {0 N- K
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

) t4 ^) l" r" {) h4 F, O q1 H- O: q1 o• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical

Required Professional Designation / Certification
8 B/ F5 [: Q% e: j• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
