• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
+ ]( P* `' n8 t* Lthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by " E# s: J% B3 J" j1 H
the Board of Directors; 0 _4 h8 Y3 Y9 h8 U/ ]9 L9 W6 U2 F/ @
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations % ^' e5 d' a4 C! t1 K
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
* L9 M% {0 _" e; D2 {# v, Ienable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 2 ]* K- D* d/ ~7 |( y A
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and a& N+ a. X! v8 p9 b
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
+ S- j" s; j6 e. ]the board;
. d0 S) p! ` q1 e* E+ S• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
9 H' o' y& y: _) \• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
* w, ?2 N/ X) n$ \7 Zthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ! L3 C$ R8 a E+ v# o
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the & a( d" |! A% n) h! V3 @: Y
changing needs of the organization and community;
: H Q! ~: r, R• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
% j8 W- o7 H) I/ y' kcommitments; 6 p5 w' ~" r# S* n s7 G' N
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
6 K9 n5 h: ]0 p6 a! L+ b5 ^4 B" \• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
a# \- S+ h. b$ Dselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; / D/ V/ X" H3 C1 l, v
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
) i; V3 d1 J& l; f( {3 A+ A• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 2 V' ^, x/ J3 q0 \1 C# t/ T" o
effectively and positively represent the association; 4 h3 R7 A. A+ b x' {3 X6 U
/ i/ e9 H9 C) U# X/ ^/ u2 \• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ) g# i5 A1 z$ G5 y9 @4 \) q3 {
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
$ c, F8 ^; N! w$ U• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
9 X& ^2 s9 @& L! z* X3 Kperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
$ o; x6 b* R1 n" Z: `1 vthe forthcoming year;
( \% }, y& ^7 ~: e7 V$ |/ L# P• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical % U, i% j) `: _ M3 ^8 b; V
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. : {; l8 X5 P# {3 ~! `

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
: n4 b1 H) o' n: v$ ? g/ ^• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
, }) c* a3 K$ h y7 V/ M% Xabilities;
$ S5 C, X: I0 ^( L• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
# n, L: s3 P& d, b3 \Networking and Fundraising; % W d: g! E3 M# C. m
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting / I/ \) K# q/ |$ T
and financial statements; and
* Q$ o8 D+ _0 o• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women & B2 F. Y! R% C. ^1 p
