& P5 m* {' i. O/ LThis is a temporary student position up to 8 months intended specifically for Engineering Co-op students.

Collections Services is looking for an enthusiastic and customer service driven Waste Collection Engineering Co-op Student. As a co-op student, you will report directly to the General Supervisor of Collection Engineering and work with various groups from Management to the front line staff in both office and field environments. You will be a member of the Engineering Team supporting the City of Edmonton's Waste Collection and Drop-off Services.

Functions:

5 e; v2 A- k$ y0 ?0 i' XCollect and process field data for the optimization of waste collection routes
Develop a module using the raw vehicle tracking GPS data to analyze the collection efficiencies and provide statistics
- J0 r, R0 t7 ^8 v* P5 ADevelop a module to track waste container inventories
Assist the contract management
+ Z. a! C$ C# X$ yAssist in the implementation of the routing system
Conduct engineering studies and analysis for waste collection and drop-off services
Assist in the administration of contracts and the project management
Provide technical support to operations
Qualifications:
5 M6 H. E& Z" m1 T7 O. C! [Student must currently be enrolled in an Engineering Technology Co-op or Engineering Co-op degree program in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering
% A4 c: C. T: b6 PCourses in waste management are considered an asset
, Q: z, ^& e, f1 uExcellent verbal and written communication skills
Comprehensive data analysis skills
& ^( {- |  y6 i. T- W* ~Well developed planning and priority setting skills, with the ability to multi-tasks and meet deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel
& K. @) f; S; X" VKnowledge and experience in GIS/GPS is considered an asset
, [+ }+ U! L. m# n% y/ U6 a, O( fValid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License
9 [+ O* X- w" D* F" f2 b/ GHours of Work: Monday - Friday, 33.75 hours per week.

Salary Range: $22.095 - $26.315 (Hourly)
