; ?6 x  J/ p* N; {7 |/ o% l2 [. `As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
; y+ C. E+ d! g: ~" `  w  _5 E• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
; O1 I/ y  k" d4 _, t• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
. i! J8 i( t5 L7 o• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
/ Q9 t, ~% c. G' f4 \0 {* |• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
0 q  o  `$ |5 U3 z' p2 R& [• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
# z) B3 ~6 x7 d& _/ R9 U, H4 l• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
7 U/ w5 r( J' ]; X% N5 P• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
3 j/ R- T4 h1 F3 z• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
% n- \$ i. n0 x- D: f" _% I1 ~; W• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
9 H$ }) b! T$ |• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
  R, Q! ^! X8 c/ F! A2 m  V7 t• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
