As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

: k# i/ T" Z6 o# b5 r• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
4 j, h  O0 ~) l6 v0 n6 ^/ Q  b• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
& v; ^1 f( x$ o& Q7 v• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
) h6 U7 v% `# W4 S7 Y3 f• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
' J8 L7 a+ J0 a- N0 _* |0 P/ N• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
1 t- Z$ i) z) V5 D$ J5 P• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
. k# v. o- D" H0 O" @• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
7 c( h# s' Q+ H% h& U! S. u9 n• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
( k; U! p! @, }1 X: L1 G( f  F• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
& r  c- x3 j" K• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
& {  B9 a  \# J( o• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
0 g4 v% g2 {4 N( S) K" C• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
/ [1 k" X/ L+ A1 j" p/ [( c4 W7 j• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
