As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

) h/ M: S/ v2 ]# E5 o  ~) B• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
/ E" ]- p4 f' d; q# N/ I• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
3 W; p' L6 G3 }8 [2 x5 i• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
! j, a, J! C# @: U% ?& H• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
" v! t; w, @: L2 R9 b# {• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
8 D5 A* G( y$ T, ~• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
6 ~& {5 m1 _+ E, t• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
! `6 m' O! u; S& x9 ^; ~• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

7 E- |9 _1 |7 V* M' xSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
) `7 U- L: O6 T9 _& t9 |• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
$ D; j: h5 ?8 M8 h# k• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
1 C* i7 i9 c0 r• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
  k0 [% @* r" D1 r5 v. K# r7 _. w7 @• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
% c  s7 d6 R7 C$ n# x: o2 D• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
. |9 y, d4 A+ I$ w0 b4 H• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
- X. h- Q  |# l5 r! [% n7 ?• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
