Essential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.6 c* s) x* D4 z- a

Under the direction of the Program Manager you will:

* a4 x% d. l, P) J0 oRecruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.

/ B7 o% h: \" J1 mTraining – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.

Organize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion." N z" G. l" _
7 O+ M+ d, u' K% `5 N6 o) d; q1 Z3 FNetworking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.( s" i6 ?2 p) c) L' j! ?0 {- P1 d a
( n( K/ n, Q1 z+ L: L# ?Professional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.% N( R+ ?7 o6 Y/ ^; a, C- e
2 l0 i( v: S3 ^9 T9 j; l1 Y' h& MProposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators.

Project Evaluation & Reports – submit timely monthly, quarterly, annual reports and include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model.. { l/ v- @3 W
