Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre


Key Responsibilities & Duties:
) c( i9 F8 q8 n/ O& j
5 _/ j) c2 x1 j) W Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
0 r" C% _5 z. A7 g8 m2 ` Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
; G7 v& I& o! @5 I" W; c6 J Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
/ n* Q" c, Q" A; g( G Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
- c, O7 @1 {7 G% I# j9 `! C Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
! ^1 H! A5 z7 a0 H Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
