* P( G# P4 z0 ]+ xKey Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
6 E- @' x6 w0 Y2 @6 g Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
8 d% I8 l9 [( q0 v Completing required paperwork.
9 e& N" u/ d) R6 l& o1 d8 x, x Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
/ l' F, a# v' D$ ?/ H6 y# } Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
5 Q8 R5 P: S0 D" {3 j4 P  s. x Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
/ e  {8 w; C3 I- ^% F$ L Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
3 N. e6 e8 M$ l1 h; J9 F Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
' ]+ C: F" A8 q8 l, v' ~ Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

) D$ c7 h* t, g( S% l8 S& l Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
. Y- V2 \' _/ {: e9 g  L% x. U Knowledge of community resources.
4 b8 X2 ^; Y2 ?: R# i& D( k Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

$ b7 n2 g3 e$ ?2 RThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
