Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
% S" x2 d* k7 d3 d Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
- F  X: ~3 s) Z9 U Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
* g3 \9 F$ l: r Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

$ A* X3 j9 v% d  k) B7 Z) L Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
" `9 N- J2 ?2 p8 \6 _/ \1 Z' G. P Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
' w# D) \2 }9 ]+ c: x Knowledge of community resources.
% n+ F7 r" v& r& p1 t" v Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
! @. I) b( R& aThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
