The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.: C" K/ E9 R, L

OPERATIONS
0 w* y, a& I2 [6 p5 \0 P" x• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.3 y% Z. ^& _0 W
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
7 [# A# R+ Z; W0 D• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge! u: a) @% a. \# y1 e5 T
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
3 e) Q' |5 |" ]# u3 B/ e+ o7 r1 J• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program./ G2 e+ @7 p( m" F" z( \; `: h0 a
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.. A* D' D0 J+ z
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.' \" T$ I& T6 D
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities! f2 t' `+ ]1 n z4 M
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

3 ^2 c! {6 L- n+ L- Z0 I/ L• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position7 `% ~3 L# m( _0 |% D5 Q
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
( G2 T$ p4 n) i; L! i• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate' b O$ _6 q5 D5 k/ l
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department$ G+ V+ S0 i7 r7 o! u6 F1 s* |% v
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ! N+ x, I* ~3 D6 N
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
( Q$ Y. Q( E: y5 s4 F% b• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Prepare a regular monthly program report

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances% Z t( |8 M& p
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

! O! d" n5 e1 g6 O+ [INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
* }& D7 r# S9 x7 F* J8 Z/ f• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
+ H s$ {4 H. r3 Z+ T4 p m% Y& ^ o• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
2 y0 e5 x8 l2 L4 p) [• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
+ y4 P5 b8 a3 m/ t0 v w2 A• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required5 b; r, R" W: g7 E3 _

Qualifications:
/ w+ H+ Q! `9 X2 j; U
* \( L' b7 r( \6 f• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination/ P) P5 X* g' n8 [% M- ]
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability" T; v1 n8 s4 b! c% S
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills+ M, d8 Z2 w& Q
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 7 e8 S2 \) w6 c( C* r
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure* g1 c( ]0 C2 R
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects & f2 ~, e; G& E S1 k1 E0 Q" E2 w" p; n
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
