The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.8 D4 Y* z9 g2 \8 g2 e( R' j

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.2 _) ^8 x2 N3 R9 D$ o& C
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.# E8 j/ U5 w& t6 V/ g6 @! h
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge {8 @- L- [, g. m" S
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.. i8 m' G; o: w
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.' l- Y1 a; P# x, Y* R' P
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
* ^! S7 k6 v! f( J( J• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
0 f" e% h ^ x1 b# {* i1 {7 `• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities4 s$ w$ w. N) P$ g* J* o* R
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required1 i$ J ^6 l# o. ^

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
* ? g% K* g- B- [6 t0 h0 ^! H8 o• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO4 ]9 n) _& Z4 n6 m' m! h& d
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up8 b2 [1 d8 L& J7 f+ L
+ V" Z2 H/ s5 [' D- UADMINISTRATION
$ g) G% A" T( p• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
/ J6 \6 f6 H/ Y) j, c• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
' x& D. t/ k7 F6 K• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
. T. m3 n( J% r) ?# m& E• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
7 `' k5 D8 ^4 r• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ; {3 U# ~, ~9 y% q8 @# m z
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency8 e' q2 I4 O1 U( {
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services2 r" Y% \8 F1 [; J' h4 |4 u6 D
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes9 X9 ^; [8 K2 @% w3 h; m( d
• Prepare a regular monthly program report

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances& I; \! c( A6 X* ~+ w
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required
% F( U5 s) L0 e% N( E( g+ _& \1 u6 F9 j# g) r$ R' n. n
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
0 Z9 Z. b7 r' a T, f• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers+ P/ w; ]9 u3 m2 t
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
+ h2 M+ `. h3 B• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 1 Q" M4 b7 t' G4 z8 w8 v ]
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:
- B g) E1 Y& S2 q9 _+ a
' [1 G' y( m4 V- A" G; W• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
. _! L4 r' Y+ n• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability" ]; H( l! T! d4 Q+ D
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills) T9 a$ K! _8 N. O' r% N8 _8 d
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 4 }) e2 s* Q1 P7 `
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
& t- t0 j* F4 @: O$ }0 p W• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects + `; L. t% L. v5 u; R; g; x; i- Y& j
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
