The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

Job Responsibilities:  F& j+ N- _# q9 K% V% `6 v

OPERATIONS' P: `6 v) H" Z9 O5 H
•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.5 n& f% _' ~9 G+ Z& b: Y* P
•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
# l3 X8 v: d2 m0 d; ~•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge$ M; Y2 T9 Z7 U1 m1 r
•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.

•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
. k0 s8 Q/ U/ t8 `' ^•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.# V( i+ N3 i1 A% X* F) r* Y
•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
1 ^5 L% ?; H9 r•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING $ w0 g5 f5 o9 q5 p
•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO! |/ F' s& s+ r" j2 _8 F4 Z6 N* L8 N
•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up  d2 h- S7 a; T6 f
! L) g( r8 {! o) N0 E0 _/ w
ADMINISTRATION6 e& j* u  ~1 Q$ h- X1 K
•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position0 k8 h/ y) n# A7 |3 o. ^; g
•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
) E; v; J' Q! }7 X' t  J•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate1 ~: k0 N7 w$ Z9 S/ j
•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department0 o8 N2 X% j+ h; s9 G
•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
; b  q3 F) K2 ~+ k5 q1 w) n1 g; U•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
; f+ y6 i' c5 }$ U* W•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
% B6 o" j5 T5 }0 c' i! @7 s: Y•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
1 y" Z& a3 ]' z; F, Y) R: ?) V•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
1 H  i! W$ o$ K. }- t•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required
2 \/ v1 H1 {2 W; H' M1 F8 d! {- E1 J: c) ?/ `' d
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
- i! U+ Q! I. n•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers/ X2 J2 F+ f2 c& d3 ^5 `+ Z) g
•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
# q$ o+ T1 ~8 b, h( {. l, g•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ' S# Q; {/ ~# ~
•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required) o; \$ r, D) F$ |$ w7 Y+ F) |

9 r$ q: e7 S% W$ e' e6 V* k1 mQualifications:6 ~0 P: M8 O# G: n

9 L' }* \6 g. }( O4 k+ _+ s•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
; N1 f! G. p0 \2 I•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability' r4 _, g9 m1 F* ~. f" q# G
•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
7 B2 W- g* J2 V•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
) v8 ^" u6 v* z3 V0 W•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure# j, z7 m, N8 a6 p
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects ; ~6 ]6 h4 n7 {
•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality: d3 a# h2 B1 E, }. R
•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
