The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS
+ c! t9 q5 B: F( J' w% l9 S• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.( @8 H' z; L5 F, j/ q1 i
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
9 I4 f$ M- Q9 u: E• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
4 x: h. m9 u8 N% D; z• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.- t# Z/ C# M L2 {, ~9 i
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program., x+ T/ C0 ?, x0 h; U: |
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.5 c V g" F# ]$ e5 G) e
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
' y9 K( N# V0 { \; S1 r0 p! ~• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities4 c* P$ [- v, H
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required0 K9 {5 e' z( v4 W' `. ]2 s

1 Y1 ^2 r; T1 g• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
e, }( U9 J2 S5 Y J2 i• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up/ s8 Y$ _1 t) X$ T+ y' X$ T

# s. r8 e& k, ?6 j2 P• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position7 m. {5 C% ]# E, H
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
9 m. i3 {8 N& Y/ {: {• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate) u8 {$ c, J. m) n8 W
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department& Y& J+ H- y3 q. _! l9 J
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 8 n$ t U9 h# d% e, g# O- n
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes# I* I I5 A+ j( S
• Prepare a regular monthly program report

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances/ e; \3 i+ v/ q" `% d- l4 g/ U
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required1 {5 v% Q% D1 h$ S7 h

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
. K) `- n0 m1 l+ w' d• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
, I' v, e$ E% s• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
9 n/ f$ m" c; y3 p% @$ U• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 3 A9 d6 q9 ~& F: x0 `+ K! r
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required1 \ \, ]+ K& E2 p

Qualifications:& A4 `0 J4 v1 K5 J _* @. p, P
- {+ L6 v- c( g2 p7 C" s• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
! B# M2 g+ O8 P' H% {• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability4 Q' H9 \% z! C! ?& N; o* b$ P
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
1 s; ~; J' g4 d% {8 L• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
8 v/ k6 A9 P) i/ u0 S0 L& W5 N• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
% h4 z( n, _0 I8 r6 h0 ]% e• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
( o& b7 w' c/ ]) H• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
