The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

2 C# @' ~) b: L. D• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.+ Q7 L* n# R( M1 R( D0 |2 }
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
3 |1 ]2 x. K1 y9 t6 J( U% s• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge4 z( f/ m$ F. C# L7 `) ^2 q
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
; a$ Q& G/ x9 N/ D% j4 O# x• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program. a A+ e/ S7 {- W3 t
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
5 e0 L; z: m) c2 B: h• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
7 r5 j% Z7 g- R9 Q• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities; d2 Z- V8 v8 W% _( |. D/ D
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required& K# d, a9 B( }# V3 i

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING 2 ]. T' R8 P1 y* Y# ?5 [3 h
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
, E: _6 v& J. ^• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

* e" r0 D; ^5 p& v( |8 @; c% ]ADMINISTRATION
7 f8 N3 N; r) l' ^8 r• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
6 }5 ]! l3 @" X8 q' Q* Z& A6 o( W• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation: _+ V, t4 _# C5 d
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
7 i, a7 h7 }$ @- v n• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department! {7 A" E3 Z9 X( K9 [
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
* \4 X. a& p7 M; Q9 ?' \) n• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency: K9 b3 m9 A& W: u# _- q
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

FINANCE
N/ m2 I9 Z* C( @" Y• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
) p N8 F5 j6 I8 u$ { E• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
! g& {$ d1 [( o4 m: F6 @1 f• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers4 x0 D4 ^8 a2 F1 M# g6 C% u, O
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)6 v) t3 d- l: o( Y
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 4 i. @! v/ c" Y7 [- B! o
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required) I$ s9 K1 E2 n

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination9 g2 j: T! k9 ?9 v" z1 \1 N
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability7 n) x, S! r) O) s2 u) {6 ?
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills" @# s; _# \4 G, i7 I8 T
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills % B+ I/ ^. p5 K6 v: y
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure( V; X. N( h; U
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects * u8 l4 \" K6 ^ q% _
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality+ O5 N$ N: L& ?- P$ s
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
