The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.1 @9 k8 ~( s6 `2 }! v
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
! n4 U: F. W# ^( C2 B4 v• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge# e/ B; m' j+ i9 y2 A- f
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.. q. R3 f; g' B2 H* m3 A
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program. e/ n: p% g$ H
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.& |; P( D3 K! }* R
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.1 k/ @; N2 W# Q2 Z- p
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
G S; l% J& w& b: ^• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required6 d1 x; v* Z- z" f1 ^

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO* ?! N1 v( L4 q4 l& \# T
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up b" g4 B4 y5 f" q. ^8 K6 ?

ADMINISTRATION
/ \8 D, W8 q n! c9 v• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
$ u+ E! K8 Y( a: I% j8 r; ~3 a- R( J• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
& r8 Z/ y3 U1 D2 m M( [- D• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
! u* J3 U; R" b+ M& K7 l• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department+ t' d9 ]5 D4 S3 C4 f5 |4 L
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 7 g" Z- r" d" ]+ h5 |' f) U
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency/ }& e+ i! ]2 Y4 y
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services2 p2 p$ g% I! B: ?9 m) r
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
) R5 \; i- H* m7 K' k* S% |• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances% q0 @1 ~: c5 K k9 u1 T/ f5 u
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required. F5 o. \6 p+ v7 M/ T

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
- g( |+ L: h! B+ d• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers9 T' a: B. C) N8 C. g& K4 a4 V( d
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)9 D7 T h' i0 x1 V
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
2 F: U( c+ S5 F1 M0 \• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required6 y! G8 `2 C/ r- a$ p' {* _

Qualifications:
5 [; v; `$ h- f1 g2 e; e: V1 | J
2 ^; S" l' v) ~, }! q# `. o• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
' ~9 o/ Q- l5 H2 i• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
6 i9 x& M3 s! }# H/ A• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills# `0 n) @ l, V8 K$ k) x% E# d2 b
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills : z7 R# h; F+ A" R
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
0 j7 m5 ]/ c: `4 |• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 8 w9 ~' \0 E7 i/ D
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality: r% t; K# D9 ^! b6 @
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial ; t1 \( I, R% k$ L( s" m' g7 m. z
