Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
* L4 m- X) s0 W& K0 q& Z* ^# p Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
/ Z$ s: Q& }8 ]/ T) y+ T+ e Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
& n5 O1 l3 a! e; M+ u! t  I9 ] Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
6 `0 i" w* T9 C6 J" n6 Q Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
- V% X: V. V7 b! m1 R Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
& E( |4 Z4 K4 l, g Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
" W4 H" l1 y2 u! S6 @$ W3 g Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
6 u7 d% q: c% G# a, k; _/ M: k Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
: `% w0 {9 s/ O5 M4 _ Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
9 L# r8 R: m( e7 ?* x% Ystarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
