Key Responsibilities & Duties:
) [+ B: d7 i( R* `5 m
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
$ I; D( o, M- G6 p2 M Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
/ y* e, M, t2 k! V Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
  S' n: }1 k+ O* d( i) k Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
+ p" }+ X- t! y& b5 h Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
  u7 \1 g, P  X' y Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
1 U3 c4 a7 [0 u" N Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
4 i" ?/ O0 o: n* j+ }; E Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
" y( w2 ?* }1 m+ y) n, S Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
