Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
$ I; D( o, M- G6 p2 M Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
/ y* e, M, t2 k! V Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
S' n: }1 k+ O* d( i) k Completing required paperwork.! X' {) q5 B- S& ]
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.4 x. f/ |2 v. n% @; Z G- F) ?% E
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
+ p" }+ X- t! y& b5 h Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. ! T5 x5 W, k0 x6 ` u5 N
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
u7 \1 g, P X' y Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience., [/ e% K# \: V3 ~* i
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
4 i" ?/ O0 o: n* j+ }; E Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.( x- Y7 h; v& E( c% E$ h n
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.. M! v ~ U: R. I t( w
 Knowledge of community resources.
" y( w2 ?* }1 m+ y) n, S Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.4 q' u7 g+ ^- E1 `7 ]
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position: M* p5 I7 g. U2 m
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; 8 Q# j! N7 x2 u1 N
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
