; E1 u0 S& W# DKey Responsibilities & Duties:

) S+ D/ Q3 V: E1 V% @ Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
/ L0 C' B8 N* `( ~+ @& F! m( R1 x% w5 _ Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
+ z7 o* M' p+ b! L" v! c9 o3 b" v Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
' j0 Y. u; o7 K$ P9 D Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
1 m+ G5 H0 G6 h% S- A1 h: m. D Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
8 D& ^, s# j% M$ O+ s8 p Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
- G1 k) O. q3 a) T4 O Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
6 y; j; u9 C. @" f$ g7 I Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
! b: o; U) W- \8 B7 `5 Q9 M Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

0 I' Y$ a$ w$ L& pPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
- d7 D7 i3 z! y2 m7 r! [starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
