Key Responsibilities & Duties:

( Q! H# F+ x% X8 K0 O2 x: Z2 F& x0 w Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.% e& A* }6 F' E% \. {' K& T
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
0 R8 s5 u, W$ `- H/ f. j9 R Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.& b' O7 y0 c5 P& i5 S1 E& C6 B
 Completing required paperwork.
2 l( q* |! n: Y2 d1 M1 n Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
! P, k3 i* s9 [! c; ^3 S Following and implementing all program policies and procedures., l, {' v" T2 c0 S. |2 y
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
4 b) L9 }( t' D2 y; L1 W, s Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
! l+ y) l5 i6 Y Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
+ j* s6 J) k/ L, L1 d$ c Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

4 Y# W( o! p# S& |" B: Q* { Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
& P: X F' u" p% q) y Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
9 @, O; m& N5 V6 T V& @1 Y# S# [" X Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.3 [6 {: s0 B* k' n4 l
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
; U, k" N4 N6 n* | Knowledge of community resources.
# Q1 E5 U+ @6 y% J7 w2 l Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
# {; n P1 \* }3 e0 K$ J Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
9 n& A e) V5 T8 \This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; . a7 D d6 {0 C7 O6 x+ }
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
