New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
% O8 r( r, k" W1 a Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
/ T  H& H- Q/ |, f7 w8 _ Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
, c1 L5 F$ n5 J) n( e' f  e Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
: W4 x; t% ]2 v1 R0 r Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

& J" l2 T" Q4 ?) x4 ^Qualifications:

# c2 U' q( }9 g) W3 V4 H7 @ Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
* X  h1 p& K7 W2 r8 c Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
6 n1 M& I6 I* N' z( O Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
, a: b0 I! L+ G0 [ Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
5 N6 E! l! E+ y' T0 ?; [( P Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

! r% r/ p3 x* c: Q) MPosition:
( X5 s! D, r9 ~3 i& I/ v1 AThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
+ x( l# O) ~% ]; w- v! ^7 Kstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
