Key Responsibilities & Duties:

+ v( m' r( B/ F. {1 U Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
" N  ~. B) i$ V! ~" v: ] Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
9 f! U1 X( y  Q0 c( h3 \" L Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
2 D. y3 l; L  N9 y2 y/ S/ Z Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
" Z$ B; [8 i5 w) a% A, t) |' d Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
# g5 A1 ]9 M4 p! l Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
# i9 }6 D& B) ?3 f2 G
# s6 G8 C- S& V( b% `- T$ @ Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
5 A/ j* j' E5 b. l$ w* |9 y! ?9 I Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
8 r$ P6 F- l. M Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
