Duties
7 p5 M2 P) u% N2 dReporting to the Administrator of Information Technology Services (ITS), and working collaboratively with the other members of the unit, the Web Application Developer provides application development support to ensure viable and effective solutions to the business needs of units within the Human Resources portfolio.: h* {3 E! Develops web-based applications in support of the business needs of units within the portfolio! W- J0 |6 z- u5 Z
Designs, maintains, and optimizes relational databases used by web-based applications' F2 h; N5 F6 x! |% x* W4 f7 z/ @2 H
Provides ongoing support, training and documentation for applications developed in-house
& O' B& l0 W: @; VParticipates in needs assessments, project management, and software evaluations7 G W$ b6 _& ?
Provides creative design for new and existing websites, including graphics and the development of templates to be used with the HR Content Management System (CMS)
3 U. p2 T4 d. k" `# }! MMonitors websites and coordinates with the appropriate individuals and groups to ensure that content is accurate, up-to-date and highly organized

0 G( C4 q. v4 V( }Two year technical diploma in computer science with a focus on web-based design and database development
4 d; y# m* s6 }7 rMinimum 3 years experience developing dynamic web-based applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.Net, ADO.Net, XML
4 O4 ]9 `, ^- S. lDemonstrated experience with database development and optimization using MS Access and SQL Server 20002 j. }7 `9 R( K( Z5 t
Experience administering IIS and working knowledge of Windows Server environment; experience developing with SharePoint Services and SQL Reporting Services an asset$ ~" V2 [( X# m! g& ^9 o+ M
Proficiency developing web graphics with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; proficiency using Macromedia Flash an asset
