Delivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items
( J* U1 L6 j w: M# N* Z. iObtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments/ u/ O2 K9 t8 u3 _
Ensures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound8 o: a8 |; ?3 F9 Y
Prioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead
; h! u: C5 h: x9 q$ ]- ]Operates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions6 r' `$ y; q+ J: r* t/ G" m, z7 g! b- V
Performs related duties as required; K7 C# ?* ?: ~: T* d) o
Qualifications
: [% a' A4 x% ?Valid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.4 s, C5 b) Z" l% {
High School diploma; previous driving experience required& k/ f8 E( A/ M( z4 q5 {- o
Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification
/ Y! o6 [$ y4 _1 h7 A' e* _Training related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials
