Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
# J4 ^' R7 T2 p, j Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
* ]0 e' O4 Y! ~- E, a: ?% i2 _ Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
" \7 C$ ]- H: P' J% u7 G Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
; ]) |# U" ?' a+ v2 @& }2 e Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
6 g+ i% K, Q7 v) |! K& e Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
. s  i. P  f% T: W; l Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
: E( t3 Z) _4 R( H0 X# S Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
% y6 b+ _6 a6 S# r Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
