4 M1 b- \9 V1 L Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community
1 O, d' J, p2 H" w Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met
7 x2 {6 e+ Z9 A# F1 x0 m Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues5 e$ J/ d0 ^$ R. [: X
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
% A& F$ g- \. J Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community- l# k; }9 K# b8 ~# K+ p4 }: K
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs, J. `+ t# t1 ?$ U! F) B
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.* |: z5 `9 k2 s4 W' ]

 Social work degree or diploma
# z8 l0 `2 y8 L& I" } Current RSW designation preferred
$ o/ ?2 C8 z9 E. @6 [ Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
; k! X1 {! }6 b1 `( G Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City 9 X* |8 }3 D1 U* i3 g2 S
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner% I( E7 H) f! f1 B
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues 2 E) ?( Z( s0 b6 ~- r5 w
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills5 Q1 U8 @ h5 n, ]
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite( x3 K& i2 y: G& K
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
