Responsibilities
  D1 v6 r& A, n, r' i/ Z7 z- c$ ^1 n Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
: ~& _5 r5 c5 T1 Q. o Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
$ P; f/ }9 c! Q" }- A: B Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
  o, N, F9 g; i Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
8 S' w2 C. J+ a. h& U Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
& C# `+ k+ f" U8 V Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
& Y. `# p% z8 P  }9 R Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
- {; |! q: Y5 l- b1 g; I/ H( E8 O Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
0 f+ {& Y2 q- U1 v Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
