Responsibilities
, O- c& T8 ^& T3 E  u. N Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
9 Y: O+ R4 ?& s5 q" S; r( D9 o, q Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
+ Q# [1 r5 ]4 s! X# r4 }* Q Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
( c2 m0 c" h% \& K Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
$ }: ^. j! u8 m8 M, M# [% P Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
0 r0 n* w; X. c/ M# i' _ Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
% U! O, J+ E4 a+ s% U3 g# u Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
: [1 ^8 H1 u6 W. Y" \ Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
0 T1 E* W" \7 o' V Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
- @9 l: Q$ |* g Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
3 @8 F. f' `! |- x8 i7 {4 p" Z Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
