We are currently recruiting for an intermediate level C# analyst for one of our provincial government clients. It is a 1-year contract with possible extensions, and work location is Edmonton, Alberta.

Reporting directly to the Team Leader and indirectly to the Associate Director of Royalty/Tenure/Communication Applications, the Systems Analyst(s) will perform requirements gathering, maintenance, enhancement, development, and testing tasks on existing in house desktop and/or web applications. The prospective Resource requires a broad knowledge of object oriented technologies, C# programming experience, experience in development and maintenance of large applications, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to function within a team. The ability to lead requirements sessions with business, and formally document the requirements identified in the sessions, is vital to this position.

* k% D# i  `) lResponsibilities may include:

& D5 X+ @, \  H) u1 `- Gathering and documenting requirements;
% N' E- V/ N* D# q/ @
# N9 K$ `9 d4 j$ n% ~" @" S- Leading and/or facilitating requirements sessions with business users;

" J7 {+ r# K: i; p4 N* h  R- Performing detailed analysis and design of proposed application changes;
( S+ G4 w  q1 \: T3 G# ]* }
1 G* a3 q* z* f4 l4 K- Performing program modifications and enhancements with minimal direction;

1 f( v. X! z- x- ~- Providing impact analysis of proposed business changes on the application, in terms of development effort and processing;

- Developing and executing test cases and scenarios and documenting expected and actual outcomes;

- Providing resolution to problems arising in the production version of the application;

, g% u& G( H- U9 _# R- Leading a subset of the larger team in a particular short term enhancement effort;

- Developing programs to extract or convert data for use elsewhere;

- O8 P. v5 v4 O7 w% U- e- Adhering to quality assurance guidelines and maintaining quality assurance on all deliverables;
* y2 p! o! ^5 g7 Q
- Liaising with testing teams, client community, and operations areas;

- Providing on-call support on an as-needed basis;

+ o5 J$ }  z( K  d  p! ]+ U0 }0 R- Status reporting to team leader as required;

% B. g9 a' e9 H! q0 b. M) C, S" }- Developing and maintaining application documentation; and

) V% D+ y9 m" _* c9 ~- Using modeling techniques for data, process and business design.
