Canada’s first comprehensive Digital Economy Strategy, we need to look
0 G' T6 `, y9 G6 }: ncarefully at how issues like UBB affect the big picture. We will be0 L8 B7 h- I: p ~! O. n6 U" ^
guided by our long-standing policies of encouraging competition and
- Z3 _1 @& T/ ^6 linvestment, increasing consumer choice, minimizing regulation and allowing

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has
; t' [; f& j& {, h. Q1 [8 Mchosen to examine these concerns that the government shares with a large
" G, X' P6 |* a* x- J0 Anumber of Canadians. Details of the CRTC consultation are available at

When the CRTC reaches a final decision following its consultations, the

s' d5 i" J. ?' x& Ocompetition among internet service providers. I will be recommending that
; D9 n6 q$ O: p) J- q+ bany decision counter to these foundational principles be reversed.
