Position: Outreach Worker

\& Q* g$ T0 c p1 A. D! w1 i' i- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information) T0 y; C& d% ^5 u$ i5 M
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
3 @4 `9 r( g3 l- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
# A7 Y( Z& U2 F: C \- provide support to ISP staff0 Z4 X7 t8 H# J& m& ^
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members: n0 l7 x/ ~4 L* q2 o) k
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities. \2 `$ ?- r* \& o2 J. ?
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
! J3 ~* V( L% W* S8 z- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants: {: @5 Q/ u0 g+ o( Q0 E
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals5 s/ g( F, ]) k% U& g: q
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
. @4 Y/ O d! w' R, Q- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
& o9 S0 X2 @% [- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities, Y5 D" \5 a8 _ A% g
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

; B9 R3 @; Z3 i' w& F- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered# V& q# x- ^* F2 Z3 f0 ~% H; b {. f4 L
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available/ E% r+ L# C0 N. h/ l
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers2 v4 P' f. K4 }7 a% u% q+ p
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software; }4 c6 e) [) Z) L
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)5 _8 Q) c: Q3 `- C" z: a* ?
- good interpersonal and people skills9 ^' W. H5 T8 Z1 I9 Q
- good organizational and coordination skills$ e% N( Y3 v. V: f
- valid driver’s license
