In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.4 r5 _* ~1 p5 \2 L4 D% a; B

3 {1 {, v9 f1 ]+ g6 {• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners # I! E q: Y% H
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
6 \) O+ o. s* u1 i; l* S+ y• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
) Z; ^) v/ |- j; \8 J• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
, l; }4 o7 x* Q% H, v• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada ; X3 t7 ]+ C0 A1 q! k
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) 1 O5 z) X7 O: S) S
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required $ S6 F) g5 F+ t Q& S2 v
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities ' Z0 E3 g7 M# {$ U* {4 _9 C
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
& B A. H" Y8 G7 }5 p• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required
& { L- a0 e4 Y+ y+ C7 y. M9 K+ HOther Activities:9 x; u1 P) C2 C( |3 O, p8 A
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies , h y) {! h0 N8 h( q
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners ' ~$ |6 R- o& Z( V+ a$ n
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting $ S) B* C+ U9 G9 g
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
" R7 R/ b* ^8 {- ^0 C' v6 M• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience ' f7 Z9 L; H- r9 C; O* E. o
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media 8 U% Z9 b9 L( X3 j" E
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 7 J- \. g! n, H2 Q
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
# N) u! h+ ^3 e" ^• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams 1 \* Z" J4 }+ P0 s
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
7 \3 d& r: `8 F/ b* j+ x• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
4 V! N' ~5 _- M/ W• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
/ F9 v+ H! b- ^• Content / curriculum development experience ! j5 `% o k* S6 a8 ~
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

• Policy research skill set is an asset
