In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.& P- J; r- X' L l. F" X( C

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. ' J! e$ b, J9 v. r
SEDI is staffed to:
3 X! k9 {/ @' @: [5 R2 b• conduct socio-economic market and policy research 1 m/ ^8 Y% _5 E$ I9 J5 w
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
8 A4 t4 t7 G+ X5 w2 K# x# d, x• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
4 @4 x+ v2 S: n b9 p5 j• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 6 C! |* M& {# M1 L6 P
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
! Y2 a0 s8 c! ]9 L' y1 w4 S• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
3 X' t; E- {$ e5 o! P6 x' O• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada ! \5 E; r T+ F9 N8 P9 a
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) $ [! x: c9 z5 t1 R1 A$ G! C
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 5 G8 r% {3 a( x
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
0 t0 f7 A% D* D% D' @) N3 P• Working with evaluation and management information systems team $ s3 j/ Q0 B. q) w
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required
( I$ J) k9 Q- WOther Activities:
0 C: \) E4 @ O: e4 {" l• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
/ I$ p8 ]# ] m0 @" r) c' k; _% i• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners - K" k) D8 Q+ d8 w. K
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
5 s$ [) c: u1 |7 F• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports . @) R, W/ W& a/ o" g8 `) i
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning
$ i& x: ^$ Y0 k" u" J4 _ YPrimary Qualifications: 2 n9 }5 X" Q. o" {3 ]4 L
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 5 }3 ]- Y; ?6 f! w- [% b
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media 8 |( t: m7 B- e" }3 A9 ]5 g
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
# x, i. y0 `% ^+ o* ]! J• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities

• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals
$ p! F/ J7 A/ V' x9 x• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
g- v7 l! l0 u F3 V• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
. Z0 y2 N, R: @" i* S( }7 e2 V• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 5 U$ G! ^; }2 q
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
9 u1 r1 x. H6 w4 C% [• Content / curriculum development experience
5 E% l. F+ H! }• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners : x+ ~0 b$ R5 x9 R3 y4 C
• Excellent organizational skills
0 H$ d4 j6 ^9 G" j0 N5 p! e, n5 K9 m• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
