In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

8 o5 s4 N2 ~. F# p. E, L: B• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners , F$ ^7 h: ~7 D% `8 J* W
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation / R3 G9 Y! R3 N9 x6 d, J
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
! E4 _) @ l& y5 \% i9 |. _. r• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 4 x' O% q4 m( Z- w) m! d
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses & H- S' g3 \; W5 T3 e2 j2 {

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
0 J) d, f0 h4 B• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
b) Q5 `( d2 w• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) & t% y, D. `, ?7 ~( X0 J
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
" ^( L' ~$ d! _! V4 K! b• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
4 U( c+ Z6 G% @4 l6 f& N• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
1 G# u$ {% e/ ^+ e• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required Q& X( \6 t; a/ e- \0 s
Other Activities:
" |& o, D' E3 C% l+ i7 j y4 W• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 3 V9 l) i' R' c/ a8 E/ w" S& H
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
- B# V8 t2 W5 {( J• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
- p% C* l x i" ?• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
( V% O z, O2 j0 \' f• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning
( D& `" e; g3 B# e) T5 fPrimary Qualifications:
2 C+ J0 p- s$ x/ p2 H• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
3 }) p3 P/ a* O: x4 r! f/ _• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media ' s* B/ h* _4 m# w4 J# p
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
. v' `" T+ }# q+ _7 l# A• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 7 I1 I( m6 X9 [5 e# B: X
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
" A1 d9 W& L' {, L& M* O. s2 y• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals
. J5 L5 A1 K$ t8 }6 v• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
4 I- X) L6 t" x2 {2 ?3 Z8 W9 ?0 ~• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
" @; E9 G2 h( l" G' ]4 L• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc : j1 H# I1 Q$ m# o' n6 r9 U
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. y# U3 l* W3 g9 |0 D0 A# ?0 v
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
5 Z: P" X4 O( K• Policy research skill set is an asset 9 \* W- o, ^8 b* h2 @2 X
• Marketing and communication experience an asset
