T.A.N.G. Youth Program is an educational and activity-based program aiming to equip

interpersonal skills, anger management, personal development,
( p+ o$ O! Z3 d$ w% Land Canadian-Asian culture are some of the ways in which this goal is achieved.

What will take place in the sessions?* s3 c; }+ n3 V* ^1 H, u* T' V
Each session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.

 Explore personal interests in arts and recreation* _( A6 _$ E) z4 \8 O; I- O/ z
 Learn how to access community services and programs

3 P- I5 I; t; c% I6 C1 d* URegular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.
* R1 s& X! q4 r) m. l( Y+ mSummer Group Sessions: 2 consecutive weeks in July from 9 to 5 p.m. daily

# w3 r) `& z, [# x* dAsian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.4 ^7 f S, n) E9 k7 j
, S* V4 @3 n. H ~* k3 l+ G3 pWhat is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?
: \3 o3 z' W+ i5 y1 A6 mIt is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group.2 P% f1 H% Y& e+ O+ a! S

! C {% N( u- S$ p, G# t1 r3 |0 l
" f: T) O' o4 ]$ y: X8 y Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies
6 c, ]: h. C6 X! U$ k g Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development & ~5 b( c1 n1 d; E) M$ W
 Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities6 v6 k( k( X* e4 _% o
 Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
7 `$ W& B& V9 ]2 C Research activities related to the sessions’ topic: s6 R, V, Z8 V- S
 Enforce safety rules during program sessions and fieldtrips7 z) T* |' H) | A- p1 i" v9 v" b
 Assist in program planning* C k1 ~! g" M U8 S7 g
 Be a role model

 On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years)" w# [* R i$ H. f
 One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer

 Mature, patient, organized, willing to take and follow instruction from Program Coordinator' S, U, b* X- w1 M3 K6 ~: a
 Open and willing to initiate and maintain a positive relationship with youth in the program4 x" D; v. n9 U( c- A! {, h/ ]
 A team player, E6 q! F$ J$ M4 f2 w, J; P
 Able to work independently with minimum supervision

 Willing to work with youth including youth at risk
