T.A.N.G. Youth Program is an educational and activity-based program aiming to equip
8 O# B- q& z9 h# y) EAsian youth to make healthy and safe choice. Recreational challenges, volunteering 0 }8 F3 l* \# l* A9 m6 J* f
opportunities, leadership training, as well as educational sessions on $ c, l0 U1 V& n3 B% H" q
interpersonal skills, anger management, personal development,
8 u; K# ]' T) A; D+ S9 Rand Canadian-Asian culture are some of the ways in which this goal is achieved.

7 {0 [5 O' |2 p% u# U: P9 jEach session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.

These activities will enable youth to:

Program Schedule:
& G& l/ p- @6 X" k9 K$ TRegular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.4 F! c+ |- p, N
Summer Group Sessions: 2 consecutive weeks in July from 9 to 5 p.m. daily
Z" F3 R+ E' h7 I 2 consecutive weeks in August from 9 to 5 p.m. daily

Who can participate?
; `0 ?" e: f4 u9 @6 m* p8 B: GAsian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.

! T7 b, f; N5 J _) |. k/ ^What is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?
6 d9 J1 @- _# G8 R& v& Y" H9 o! \It is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group.

 Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies & h+ V3 i* k+ ^, d1 w9 ?8 }
 Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development
* L# O: Y. G* E0 C9 K# Y Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities2 m }+ C" B4 J% c+ p7 O$ L
 Facilitate or assist in small group discussions( \6 h) U+ V( n* f
 Research activities related to the sessions’ topic6 Q% b) Q0 a3 ]- n6 n/ o
 Enforce safety rules during program sessions and fieldtrips

Volunteer Commitment:

- v3 }( e, m* G, \5 p On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years)
# n; C& d8 V+ ?& ?7 @; M5 N& @ One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer
