" d" U/ v5 ]% z6 x  Y8 V/ [% TAdvocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
9 I6 t& X+ P! X5 Cpeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
8 [) Q2 e( \) r% nThe YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded
( K9 j7 O/ _+ A$ p0 E% N
, [' X8 k9 m* U% xproject that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
; M% N% w9 c" Y, M4 \, ?The goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
2 V& m% u( P. _the skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
$ C- d! e& M$ J! |2 N3 W5 u. \participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
- B5 g2 B" ]1 mAdditionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
+ M3 x1 P0 @: U4 J  W$ Hfollow-up once the program is completed.

Verto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the
- |3 B' Z; j2 }1 ]2 d1 bYOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
