Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past- L+ B2 n. ?' O- Z2 b
nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to& `& b/ c# Y* n
peacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.. V9 u0 l" P7 g. j. J5 t
The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded' [* G3 J# x1 l* b3 e0 g
' `; ` \& b9 g& _5 y9 L! l
project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
2 H, l. ^5 U2 g7 g" bemployability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.* R+ V b8 q4 Q
The goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining0 D' C& C: @, h
the skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
+ H( w9 @+ i. S+ s) [% }participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,! `1 w8 A2 \6 P
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
3 ] B9 C8 R$ V# ?; t% v, XAdditionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
, l @6 [" X6 Band leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment

; j' C* w& r2 rVerto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the2 k, t- P+ y+ C! G; D/ l+ b
