- ~9 o7 j0 t7 Q& t* N$ d0 LYOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
  u' J. {3 I' P7 q" e' knine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
peacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
  o' o  N. _/ V! e! CThe YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
& F; f/ ?4 C: V7 N7 O# `( @0 hThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
, p2 T) u% W9 q- O; J: }1 Pthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
% V  ?9 R. ?  Land leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
6 r& a7 i3 D# v, i  }( l3 \: ofollow-up once the program is completed.

Verto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the
9 G; ^6 a' \5 a: L7 }, }8 MYOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
