YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

Payroll:
5 q; G" C; t, e Y8 s" q• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired3 @% L) x: {9 i; O* t" W
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll! R' i+ ]. t% E3 A) j) `" z, R% I' |
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
, }$ h2 @) F3 E3 y4 u• Input benefit deductions into payroll

• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider# {2 `2 ], a; {5 T' j
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
, E3 O. R2 s* i, H6 e8 ?• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s, l2 {3 j/ Y$ n7 T4 n$ A0 o
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority% I4 G9 J: P! |
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations% y% v6 j2 s" c5 _# P

! G, a+ ~. y/ M, M• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll 4 E! D( W e+ l& F
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.( ]' |, H8 F; k/ ^
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies* z+ R& K: E8 W; m* h5 J, o
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
# [/ X2 R4 z$ l6 k• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department& `! G/ a' Y1 B& ?2 Z
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments, V+ R# g- C+ ]# k7 L9 k: ^* H
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:, P- V( M0 D4 a* {, W1 \
( J) ?) y; W4 e& S
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP7 U( L+ q) o. _( P* [' x
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association6 i% A, d; F" J' y; a
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
8 m* F5 E' {) P0 w" Z) a4 k• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office# ~* \4 i" l2 O- N6 U9 [
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
( R, A2 k- B+ f( O' @! q: A• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
( ?# G" u+ g+ l6 v/ ~• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures, B' u% O, x+ r! U, U' Z% M
