YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. % h. R' b- e, @1 c: }" y1 Y
Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:! H. Y5 W( ~+ ^* [5 Q; M- e1 i
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired" J% Y" B' V( Z2 O! U& @$ E( S
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll ^. ~4 g0 S7 `. }
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
4 [+ C& a6 I3 y$ Y• Input benefit deductions into payroll5 C0 V9 T; O7 H5 d
0 m8 o9 E( J% T& p" P: Q# Y* wReporting duties:: [1 u6 z6 D0 \" c( ], o
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
2 _/ {( k' o9 t0 Y2 j" y• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
* z( O# h/ o# v7 H. G9 E( b• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s$ Y! b6 w& n6 _8 M
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority b: }* N# R* b( N5 |# P1 h* o' J
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

' j" G5 }5 o/ |. ?9 P! l• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
. J7 R( }$ V0 \9 d! f• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
& n' @3 f7 `5 _2 A! ]9 r• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies* a0 J* ]- Z; G! ^
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting3 }# | z1 n0 Z& i: l

Accounts Receivable:
) V& z) j0 }; A) Y9 a• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
r+ `2 ~3 q2 U. H$ Z) S, U4 h• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department5 y8 F) f1 J6 F" x& @$ s4 i) o
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
! i& i# d7 V3 a9 \$ q• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing8 n% g# K( F- e( a' V
: o% L- O. @0 V3 z, B, d5 U' MQualifications:) M+ }: @ z1 d6 l& R+ {) w+ I

• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP/ J9 W+ S6 p+ \$ z' u3 S4 l
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association. x- Q; g' @3 j3 g5 L" E
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position, N+ S( J: E0 \8 S/ M
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office/ i: F( p; e# ~, L4 u" j+ K& k# D# w
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work' C4 Q9 S% C. w: A: y3 r [
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
