YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired. t' a& F$ V. P; L1 y
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
6 u5 d [2 L$ L; v2 k• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
) I; |3 h' I# A# ?# V; l$ s! i A$ E• Input benefit deductions into payroll+ Y$ H, u3 m! ^0 o) m. `7 ~
3 p% B X8 i+ v) tReporting duties:
( U3 B* F; N0 W7 W) n9 G• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider) l2 L8 O! }5 w8 H" J; l
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website1 R7 n6 r0 s8 Z$ ?9 Z
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s) v' B5 G8 K& t
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority9 w' Q) J& w$ |0 _ S. O9 Z
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations3 L" \8 P9 x6 p2 ?2 s

Compliance:
# s; ~' V1 H: n; v6 |! n& N" j& y- s• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
% T% W2 S& I$ Q! C. b0 Q• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.0 W$ M1 Q/ _9 w4 v
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies7 z$ ~. K0 n/ F: g
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit- L/ `4 @! ^6 w! J- }7 o0 P0 C! F
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
9 D. J$ `: Z/ m$ p7 i% }' T- W• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
+ C7 L' `# m; i) M D• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing) A+ O2 n9 R; v9 |9 J0 f$ e

• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP' m. k7 {# }+ j/ B
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association" v: E6 F$ c% Y! j" w/ T# `
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
2 l5 i, u+ [/ D7 R( w! s• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office5 K. {# S( r/ x, i) n# a
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work! C3 U# [4 Z6 t) a
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
# r8 j O- L7 y, A3 o• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures8 Z* r/ {4 ^9 m# c- ?
