Hours of Work: Part-time (10 hours per week)

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. & y( Z$ W3 k* q# Y9 j: J, Z) o

Key Responsibilities:
& @4 S2 D: U4 y* N% G% \" F• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
: F+ _* O& t! U3 D5 A8 C4 Q; y9 h& e• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST$ T3 Z6 o1 }6 t6 v3 E
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
9 ?, U1 m) J" Y9 M5 G• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter! f0 r+ {/ X1 J
• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings( H0 u7 O1 h+ n" I/ g7 ?4 ]- m) T
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
& E1 A, t6 ^$ P' z• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
; Z- {/ ?9 Q H4 [6 y• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
+ |2 s6 x) w+ C4 v6 }9 R/ W: `• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
/ Q2 L$ y' x! z+ w% @) ]• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
& e. w& f9 o9 m8 D8 \• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters1 `9 b) Q0 ]; i, A: _. I
• Maintain front counter service files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
. ]2 ]% Y7 i" ~" r0 K• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person3 i+ N) `# e. a1 l7 A* {9 u
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
% S% O+ b2 i% ^; L• Good English writing and oral communication skills- g5 K& ~ o9 J
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients5 Y0 I; k% X* ^% x/ U! j
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds6 [) P4 E) Y" v) P

• Knowledge of immigrant services2 q2 ^8 \7 p# \2 A2 P2 [ ^/ g% m
Qualifications:) K; d5 J$ T8 x) e/ s/ G, i c
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
! ] L+ T/ i- y" a: x- q! ~• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment. P6 b2 I- b* C: m* i. y& U0 H
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
$ f* U" U" k, L3 o) T4 O• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
