Position Title:  Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker# ?+ b# H9 b' G% N6 E$ p% D7 \
Hours of Work: Part-time (10 hours per week)

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. & \3 ~! k4 W; G

Key Responsibilities:
% m% Q# T. }& J1 r& J, @8 D•        Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
; z9 s' |5 E' N5 z2 `•        Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST+ p$ L6 Q* Q! i' }. X% c
•        Welcome clients and direct them appropriately/ o6 K8 S0 t3 G+ J& K# Z
•        Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
4 X) z$ ^% Q7 Z. \•        Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings3 {: ]' Z5 j& ^( h7 o; q& Y
•        Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
: h* H* }# x' V5 h  t•        Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
5 d  }" v- b1 Y9 M2 a•        Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
' [* K" e; C2 B) z* U# n! A0 p, b•        Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
: O5 `* u* o" x" _  x- x•        Keep the reception area tidy and clean: S7 d* Y5 V4 K
•        Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters- F9 p( q/ t9 u3 i. U
•        Maintain front counter service files! v$ N: O5 B1 B/ G
•        Perform general office duties as assigned9 E6 v& b7 z: }2 L
•        Report to ISP Program Manager2 W: W4 o$ `; d3 H9 j6 H! C! t

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:2 @9 k/ o5 O* e' v  Q( ~
•        Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
# \, `( ^: R3 c& X& B•        Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
  h# l1 B7 Y6 Y8 y4 |•        Good English writing and oral communication skills
  b! S1 l1 {3 g•        Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
$ M6 ~/ d: M9 Q. K$ x•        Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook8 i+ t8 Q6 [8 x! {4 ]; u; y
•        Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
( c; }! v1 b1 @•        Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds
6 a) ~6 }. h) D8 k  M, w) F$ F' z•        Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment
* s* X4 L1 j: ?% x  l3 E! A•        Knowledge of immigrant services
( k; w* I- ]5 m! c5 [8 t& XQualifications:
. V& t$ u& \& U& h  N•        2-4 years of office and clerical experience
# \  C. c2 I( n1 k•        Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment8 S. t4 z# s; z; z/ h! \& G( ~3 X
•        Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism) a3 j1 {9 v: O
•        Ability to work well under minimal supervision
