7 I2 Z- E' I- j* EElectricians perform electrical inspection, maintenance, and repair activities on locomotives in the repair shop, on service tracks, or other railroad property. They have a good grasp of basic electronics, computer systems, fuel injector systems, and locomotive failures.

They are also generally responsible for tasks such as:
Repairing
or replacing small components

Monitoring electrical components

Testing circuits and connections using electrical test equipment
Other job requirements include:

Understanding and/or providing written, graphic, and oral instructions

Reading blueprints and revisions to documentation.

Judging the condition of objects or parts for wear and or defects

Using tools such as a chisel, drill, fuse puller, and overhead crane

Ability to frequently lifting weights up to 50 pounds

Work is performed in a heavy industrial shop and outdoors as required with regular exposure to dust, pollen, fumes, noise and vibrations
Candidates should expect to work weekends and shifts, especially nights and afternoons in support of a 24/7 operation.
