Job Description:; o/ U6 @$ }) ?9 ^
• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
4 w) P* h" q. l5 }7 R. a• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
4 c. v6 ~% b* L$ n( u. ]• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers- K# Y) d( @8 \/ |: _
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
+ I) Y2 |" f0 e• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place+ A) F2 Y: u; N: E
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment4 @! F# o' y, w5 |& o @
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools7 ]" b4 r) L# o7 p( g
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting1 c2 f) L4 ~3 M; T: H' H, i& M
• Mix paint, blend and match colors
& J- n& @9 P' V( B V2 p• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns p* C( \( r5 u$ S
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs6 ], W; {7 }+ u4 O# E9 c2 z( Y
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation4 L- V% `1 \; f# |
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

- e! l8 J M4 A+ k' k• Completion of secondary school is required8 q( o) O: V0 a0 C6 P
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade * h4 W& Q. r; H }: k: D/ {
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory , P& P; X7 s w3 s
