• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed. J8 x" G& M- [2 q, {
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components4 O d4 \: @1 K" w- T7 {
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers# C5 C- M* H/ i1 u' y. E; P
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams/ k/ q5 T2 p, d; w+ U) i6 N+ t
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
7 @( L" m; p5 z8 U* b6 p* `• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment% ]8 n% a' s' r& Z5 o" P' I# C
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
5 q8 g# F8 x" X3 ]• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
' @; A$ ?4 B! W! G- c• Mix paint, blend and match colors
5 x% @5 M/ Y( X t• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns% u; W4 M0 [0 k
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs5 ~1 ]5 `1 E( ?6 d
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation) N: X7 q* m9 j+ R2 q
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling$ Z+ O5 s& E) w, ?- b6 X, K. J3 M
Education and Experience Requirements:
$ X+ b$ Y2 q% k) q. D, S• Completion of secondary school is required3 I! R G2 L/ J
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
/ ]& o8 {! B" Y" a% m# l! q$ n9 J2 [• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
