In general, key aspects of the role are:
! o1 A( Q4 F1 O$ |, i) M-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
technology;
-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
* E- ?" g0 [& A  _5 D0 A  c-        Participate in peer reviews;
' w) R8 X8 i7 X) ]1 a0 C-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
-        Programming planned enhancements;
-        Testing system changes;
: ?7 N& l3 `& o# w# I-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
# r" k1 W2 s* m! P3 y& Bdepartment’s change management processes;
-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
-        Excellent written communication skills;
-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and
; r- K- ^0 _( x( u: H& @-        Understanding of project management.



! ^* Z- s: E; kA. Mandatory Requirements
5 g% `0 h- Z9 `$ J& l- O7 I3 z(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
4 G! M% [- ^0 W$ {3 ~for incorporating new technology.

(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

9 y; q" p- r$ D+ g5 D* o( f  V(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).
& l$ s& G' D; @9 I6 S
(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

9 Z" x, L$ L# q0 K3 QB. Desirable Requirements
(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

  D: P- Y5 e$ r: z1 k4 O(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls
6 }: ]: Z+ m8 b- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET
- Nunit
- Crystal Reports
+ G# }0 p) }* M; M8 Q4 ^7 x- Pdflib
- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

0 s, o0 d- q$ F, v% l(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
3 o- C. u, c5 k- R1 k- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
) f3 K8 ?* _$ Q* S9 w- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
