- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
3 F+ b( p5 {0 r- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties: @: ]# c' a5 C3 d" I1 M" d9 `
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties/ k/ T' f1 X2 c' f Z! x: d
- provide volunteers for various programs
$ A! y: |. d9 I" h5 v) v' o2 l/ l1 e2 I. }- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual: M1 l7 D% z7 S2 k& E
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation7 y2 R i) h) `8 q0 j4 ^0 w9 T
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
4 F+ @4 @4 u7 { Y2 B- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services u6 W. O/ |* A; W: s+ m
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports$ O, H0 _: E$ P3 [, w
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed* x/ B( z+ C p' Y# W, C, Q( s" ~
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed+ G4 K' }& ~) n6 F6 L# F) R
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)' M3 ]) q7 J ^# a/ b
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
) \) A* P# z, O% N- development and distribution of a volunteer manual - B8 \1 L, \" E- m$ M4 g# q5 j ^
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers & N; k5 K$ _3 Q9 R
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
3 Z5 v% j# A; F* h" r) ]9 c& @5 I- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
& d$ }* f. W/ y6 X. V/ f9 f- evaluations

0 d7 z; K4 H* K3 g! _) Y2 _- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
' v' [# Z9 ^2 I0 o, Q3 z- good oral and written Chinese and English skills' }2 X- V9 {: E8 Q& J' E$ P
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services$ x5 X$ q; y, O f. A' L6 e0 H
- leadership skills
