Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database
: ^5 D7 P8 n6 A- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers6 t, l% N& J' O
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties# D* _6 }0 A& B
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
* h8 H2 f( U# [, S1 e- provide volunteers for various programs * }- T. X8 y4 `# g
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
1 w: }6 E) }( H9 B" Q8 N# s% m- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation7 Y9 _0 l" `9 `1 e# O
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities V7 r5 [% U$ @, ^$ D
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services, j: M+ B4 h4 C
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports5 R" I4 c- g$ Q; n- z' o) E. D
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed& F5 V$ Z2 ? Q0 L2 @+ A+ A5 p
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
& p, i" ?" G- J/ R* y5 i: ^- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)0 c2 P4 @; s0 f" c
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
& c4 C- T' _6 P% r/ ^- development and distribution of a volunteer manual : ?! I& s2 C& V4 `- a
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers ' y. o6 `! d" y# D& e& L2 X
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
8 r0 S9 H8 A, I- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis , N8 R: M# }; ]$ ?/ D% L1 a1 i

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre0 D9 v1 |. b5 Y& B4 {+ c* ~

Qualifications: Z& I% |0 ] J! t4 _' h
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
; f2 [' i9 n' [ o# a; V7 V- good oral and written Chinese and English skills& f. X* F5 z; O& k
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
! K/ s) Y" S- A4 R" R- leadership skills0 a# }- L- g5 V$ l: x
- management and supervision skills
$ i5 P' q6 V$ U: ]+ j8 _) }& t* ^- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
