Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database5 g' |; B+ G% ^" Z6 D: e& J
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers1 W8 S C- R% t- f, k* s( ^
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
( X4 X( |) r8 \8 B O, m$ I- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties' g) b* G' P1 a a1 g
- provide volunteers for various programs . `' k% ~' A* u: U# g
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual1 O, k4 z' F- o, ~( M
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
' c U: E/ J5 J5 ?8 i) V9 W @7 e- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
& i! o9 @" T8 B& A7 S& E0 G- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services `+ o6 J2 o8 p
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports# h9 @6 ]2 ^; X3 b! I! l! f
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
% H# b1 G; v. F- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
4 n4 a2 o; Z0 R/ i* ~( t/ Y- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
/ q+ L2 ^8 @6 L# |7 @9 W r- a- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers

Qualifications5 p0 T& G; f' m6 W
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education2 D7 Z& m( \" C
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
/ J# ~: k% P2 I7 {/ V+ R" m- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
: y9 m' Q: x5 B: B0 Q- leadership skills
/ z- x6 h1 [: n8 l& _) M- management and supervision skills
