Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

/ M: J4 m; B2 S" w' |0 O# p- submit information for community news $ P( N1 r k6 g G- q7 g
- provide volunteers to update membership database* ?1 h3 h9 m m
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers* c5 z/ w2 Y8 E
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties* ~/ Y( r$ x; G* [7 j1 J2 Q, l+ I" `
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties3 B4 N* S% s7 B$ f3 g# S& {7 s
- provide volunteers for various programs 0 N9 l" p: |( }, n8 B2 h9 o' K
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual0 H# w; ]) G3 T, u1 M
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
* a J6 |! k( c, g2 C# X- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities9 k$ d, r. W+ e+ u, L+ o. X6 a6 U
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
7 `) o: [% H; T, w) }- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
2 e4 z0 r3 f( `6 Q- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed) ^; t& i, t' G! F; r
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
& y8 d/ R1 i+ W. `* i- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
7 d" B; {( ?$ H7 D* `6 I- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
+ x* z& W2 U6 d$ ~/ K- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 3 X7 V, F. r, B. J8 w
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
8 z1 B9 ]2 J/ f u5 }) _- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers - t" W+ s% Y$ v) `8 l4 a
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis - }' o- b5 f" k2 a: }. H* u
- evaluations ' i: b3 e I0 J9 |& E" j; Y# R* g) n
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre4 s! a9 F/ x( K& Q! V! L" B

Qualifications4 m' [! y( E% a
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
) R: L" O' Y' F" H# o. s1 P, F- good oral and written Chinese and English skills+ a5 E. x: U ]" h
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services" e( j3 W7 g( R. U$ d$ U( T5 w& P! A
- leadership skills
$ Z! c; z$ K' _; H! n; m6 H, n- management and supervision skills
) n% Z& o) C; e- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills: g. s7 u7 ^& R
