Key Responsibilities
7 s5 E# s7 f' h' V- submit information for community news 0 i% @4 x0 E# ?: V7 w
- provide volunteers to update membership database
5 |/ T e- D0 O+ N6 h- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers0 @/ j+ [6 \3 B, D1 q
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties& T. n4 Q' P0 `" V/ c
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties2 a$ c, b: U2 K$ u5 Z
- provide volunteers for various programs ( _3 R: Y5 X! [' I2 g
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
" z; H1 U) z6 D- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation4 Y" W( n9 s' a( m/ q$ n
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities+ Q* a8 D* h+ p1 ?/ f% j- x
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
3 ~2 b' }- i8 l7 `- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
+ c' `! V1 X. f( y- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed2 ?/ q' O7 J5 M$ g. r
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
/ t2 \( f, ?) A5 S- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required): }+ Y7 u2 s' @/ a% E# j
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
5 _0 ~; O7 Y \0 `7 l! L- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
7 T3 t! A3 x( T6 ?" T. [- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
' }. Z6 i: s& p7 K l x- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers - a9 z1 X2 L& n- l+ |: p5 t: E. O
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications
0 |3 x* Y3 s3 P- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education v6 Z- ~! ~7 `8 M5 c& y
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills* T! J8 N: m5 b' Y# Q; Z8 C
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services2 x5 |3 s% j4 J) k& ~" n- m
- leadership skills7 U3 b2 R6 ?6 N2 J9 A
- management and supervision skills0 B2 o: Y) g9 p- S+ b5 G
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
