Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:) D6 K" i! g# [, M, W
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

" i3 E1 i) L6 @. ^$ p4 }This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

4 ]& b, { e+ t• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
* B( L- ^+ S( B• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;3 m1 L! Q! [, U2 T+ n2 D
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;4 L1 R! D. R9 ]
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 0 o0 ^* V U, S
• Risk Management and succession planning;6 x4 _& z+ X( }
" a3 \5 R- O: VProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
# C9 X0 y$ H% k8 C• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;( R4 S& b( F! [" X5 s$ J. ^
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;0 ?4 `- _ n& f0 m
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;: E/ u/ a/ g0 B! ?/ F$ O8 d
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities0 k. S8 `2 }* Y* `. B# B/ G# \* K
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
1 \4 X6 v! o6 R: z- {• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;+ W- `5 x# M8 D; ]% S: g
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;9 k/ l Z6 E. \+ G) i! C) ]/ n
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

, y. G% @# c5 ?3 ?4 n1 N' i• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
' q7 e" |; }: } h$ U. {• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
1 q' c: m: n) y/ T4 {/ j• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 0 g4 P! j: [2 C3 C6 Q" T
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
4 l! |8 T$ F7 j( l$ i9 s4 `• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.; J; J5 s( S9 u2 C" o: B
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;& E: B$ \) [ \# ?- J: ^* z
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
# Q }0 w+ V& Q2 j* d# P7 O• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;, D/ N- g8 P. ?% g
• Current valid drivers license;- e( T2 J& a* U& l0 y. E
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
; F( i- H4 h. [5 [& g• Conflict resolution skills;
+ C/ K: D+ ~3 {' @6 F• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;; N* | n, @# V: P- _, f
• Committed and passionate about children;
