2 v( B. x d+ T' \9 ^To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 6 a0 a" L% b" R

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)* z3 `' C! _! L

/ T/ R, l% [7 P$ v4 E" m N, }) _• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;, A3 ?- V4 C: i3 f3 y
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
5 N, r7 ]3 C7 }0 t8 n$ b& M• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
0 J/ A0 Q5 Z6 r• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
& O* Y/ K' R0 C7 L! I! n• Risk Management and succession planning;

0 ^- b: j; L9 |' i2 gProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
% y# P" i# z" j; e2 \% m/ F# O• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;$ ~. v5 r& G' C% { Z+ }6 Y
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
6 t8 L8 O. W4 Y• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;. i8 m5 l- I! f+ u- t
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities. p- x6 X' @0 b
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;$ d5 ]3 \9 e/ y: ]7 w5 M
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;4 c$ H5 z3 v! u- ^# y, U# q
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;1 w( T" u* @$ n$ ]
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
' A# z' {0 A7 p& H8 c) o% M/ H• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
, j1 q+ u# ]8 W# a9 V7 @' k• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
K. _' o7 o; f. c• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
9 M Y7 C/ e2 z* P: M) o• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
9 C. Q+ s# n) e/ S$ k1 E1 l• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
7 R8 s7 |* w- J• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;+ F2 ^8 d; A# q! I% q
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;/ m, J7 i% e8 t/ r
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
0 H& p8 E% T/ e$ d7 D- U* y8 P• Current valid drivers license;* B+ C' P e) o- ~
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;$ q: H5 p) h3 B# B& W$ E( c
• Conflict resolution skills;% b1 i, R$ G% Q
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
! d9 ^ _! \- C( _$ S* L# W• Committed and passionate about children;* k, K4 H8 @' G7 F7 J
