Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:* C. M0 d. V/ L4 B0 ~% ]: v2 _! h
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

% g6 N8 }& B, U5 z9 ^This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:  D4 \, C$ i8 ~7 U4 R
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
/ ^8 w! N0 l$ M•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
- o, I( K0 V5 e* {/ p$ o•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
0 o* v. m' u' j4 R) |9 s, b8 H•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
$ }3 `: ~/ }' f6 Y8 s" Y# E6 d/ y•        Risk Management and succession planning;( W" A" ^* z9 s" s3 E5 l3 e
9 u+ P' ]; A9 o3 c# j7 x6 Y
Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  4 N4 t" P/ c) Q4 S0 H
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
' x! [* a, h% }' N3 K& [5 c3 @5 x' Y•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;8 t  K$ b, i0 o1 n" p+ V" ]2 Z
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;# W; a  o* O# Z8 Z7 ]% F+ |
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities4 c6 t/ w% {( S! k7 S
•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
! p9 C) Z  j$ _' w7 b5 p9 x•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;+ d3 }9 M+ r! y4 ]
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
/ x% j3 Y' \; K$ c1 I+ J+ T8 i( u•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;) w# m4 \2 z7 H$ V+ X

Qualifications:
$ f' |/ K6 Z4 T2 C& }& o! m3 f# o7 D•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
1 l' j7 l5 ]$ F6 r•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;5 W; D4 l' q% P+ ~  z% T3 [# s
•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
# C: X: @/ m5 L  |•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
/ c" G; X- e7 N% o& ^3 k•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
! S% I  I  p. j, M8 Z: J•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
* K  u5 H5 U) z: l. B•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
% n4 S/ V& r8 A( B. S' U, F•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;, `) c1 L/ Y6 v6 s
•        Current valid drivers license;- j2 R) H: C1 b9 F
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;7 y! m# Q- ?, S3 m3 ^
•        Conflict resolution skills;
# d1 Y9 h3 f( a4 _; q* N" c•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
% R! v. C3 I; P, w* X•        Committed and passionate about children;
