Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:! D/ v& }' E. \! x" s: E6 W
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ) ^" t, l" q# Z# v7 ~3 `

* B8 x8 J+ T1 d8 a, WThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)- U6 `: n& l  k$ K- G3 W) ^

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
2 [4 X( \+ f- o, }. d  U•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
* t) P0 w' t6 P  s* B•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
4 q- z% \9 ^& |•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;, {, C, g6 Z6 d0 X: h& T
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
4 y7 n9 R, [1 j9 q; k•        Risk Management and succession planning;
1 V" A# _* Q' d5 Z! j: Y* e! V* y2 t4 n
Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
/ i4 g! b6 p; L; d•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
: Y& H$ Y* {+ ]- p2 o6 ]& }•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;! t8 D$ j4 D: ^
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
6 h# j* R8 d( m$ `3 \" p•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
: G3 {* B, Z8 G•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
! d$ N8 F7 w+ I! x/ b& |3 @" |•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
( [: R( O' }3 Q  m•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;2 k6 G' j  L8 P
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:8 h* m8 ?- q3 Y% h) O
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;3 A4 |. r/ I9 P  _5 I7 ^9 g* f; X
•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
" ^- l% {/ H8 \! i6 @& j•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
8 \. f0 F2 C+ X  {$ R•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;, o& W  s$ o% h" p5 L# _$ D# j5 t  Z5 R
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
; g* ~' @/ Z1 [8 v5 F•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;2 n* f) `) `5 U8 _0 Y1 \
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;- A1 L5 J% k, p+ _
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;- k) s3 I  _- X# z; R' ^: h
•        Current valid drivers license;! t6 G/ G7 s& C
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;5 @! A" A3 U/ }  i0 ?  h
•        Conflict resolution skills;
0 T  E  d0 O. j5 r•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
) X, m3 g3 F, A9 J# F1 P3 v( p0 k•        Committed and passionate about children;
