To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding); h f; N/ Y" p
( A; S5 L% K9 oAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:1 h' X6 W9 ^# g" Z! `& U
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;) a k' ^4 \4 p& a- k
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
~7 R+ C; f4 `! P! a0 b• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;) Q4 F' o$ T% O+ W' l" s5 P
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 0 z: H$ s# d/ ]' r- p
• Risk Management and succession planning;: B" ^8 u, o9 z. R2 c

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
7 j9 {; K9 d; t, [' N5 s7 N• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
8 J5 v/ a9 o9 `7 O• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;0 t9 x1 K1 h# [8 k: F- \: D9 ~
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;9 a& N% f8 m2 T
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
# v; w! v: x0 v9 w. c6 V, Q2 c( h• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
) f, n' }2 T+ t6 m# C( i• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
; d1 \4 N$ v5 w. a1 z# g• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;: K$ H3 X0 K- S% L% A
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

/ o+ d3 |$ |+ ?7 }* U3 T- Y• Degree in communications, human services or related field;1 P( e- d Q( N: a+ ~; I
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
1 P/ e% y7 [% Z( b• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
, O) ]9 }- d% ?9 g( v• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;! L5 e1 t8 p. w4 Z4 s
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.2 z- p9 [0 `; D5 J1 b; D0 s
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;* J& R8 x2 a) d6 v
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;3 w( w) k" J2 W- {) \ W3 W% Y
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
3 |; U" O- \6 i& H' z& x& E5 `: m7 Z• Current valid drivers license;
+ ^ V. y+ H0 k: O• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;

' B( t; P! q3 O; t$ E• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
