Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
! h, d5 \6 Q9 i8 e, mTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding) _0 A& D4 m1 V

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:/ V# z6 p B; l- b( R1 d1 p' N5 @
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;4 B0 y4 G& u9 c l% n5 J# j
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;

• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ! T4 U& g% M2 M9 }
• Risk Management and succession planning;

! ?0 ~0 F7 s5 c6 tProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: # u* ? A) m' C! V5 G. M Q+ H
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;+ G# \+ n+ I+ r3 C
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
$ E! f7 d* q W+ Q* Y• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
8 t2 G, r { I• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities* Q$ \ R8 y$ Z9 f
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
1 V$ K5 o$ J/ P• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;& \5 D' f' j9 j9 Z4 O
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;- ~$ W5 a! Y; h9 L9 v
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

% G) ^9 s( `/ r' C2 I" \4 U" o F• Degree in communications, human services or related field;% h& z) p4 i. x2 L
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;( m8 M e1 Q1 g9 ^9 h1 c# m* E9 m
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; * ?2 Q2 T/ R- q8 E6 j3 f
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
0 S& g) m" x7 b% O• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.4 H6 w) w# \& J. r, e+ a+ b9 z" a0 P
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
T& N% J( F- \$ y• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;' D4 }- u6 J! B: s
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;4 ~3 K' k3 f* d; H& f9 F7 _) A
• Current valid drivers license;
5 R, f0 c) [& l• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
3 \ @* R4 [8 L* T& A• Conflict resolution skills;. K! T' j0 N) @- @
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
